Atari Announces 1C Game Titles for Distribution in the U.S.
1C may not be a company recognized by many gamers in the U.S., but they have some sweet games that we will be familiar with soon. Back at E3 I checked out a game from 1C, that I thought was one of the best at the show called Cryostasis.
That particular game is notably missing from the press release, much to my disappointment. The games Atari is bringing for the fall from 1C include You Are Empty, which looks pretty cool. Read more

Atari Cosmos: The 3D Handheld That Never Was
![]() |
Story
by: lunacy8m GadgetMadness.com |
Photo: AtariMuseum.com With all the new handheld gaming systems on the horizon, we thought it would be interesting to step in our time machine and look at one of the most intriguing handheld gaming systems that never came to be. The Atari Cosmos used holographic "backdrops" to give an interesting environment to the "flashing LED's" that made up the actual games. It never came to market, and only two known working models exist today.
I still have my Mattel Battlestar Galactica handheld game - flashing LED's fueled with my imagination equaled hours of entertainment. I know that at the time, a 3D background AND flashing LED's would have been a huge selling point for my 10 year old self.
