MotionPortrait Turns Still Images into Moving Avatars Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

There is something more than a little disturbing about this to me. Motion Portrait takes a still photo and gives it a creepy 3D motion and sound capability. The Japanese technology takes a normal still image them turns it into a 3D talking head that can be placed into other applications.

The company says the tech is ideal for video games and forum avatars. The technology will also be offered to other companies for use in their own products. Looks like a good update to the Wii Mii, albeit a somewhat spooky one. Read more
