Avatar Blu-ray Pre-order at $25, ships April 22nd
Avatar is available at Amazon for $25.00.
The most watched movie ever around the entire globe is coming out on Blu-ray on April 22, 2010. James Cameron thought about the making of this movie for 12 years. He was patiently waiting for technology to catch up with his vision of what the movie should be. Avatar is a sci-fi epic meant to trump all previous sci-fi epics.
It’s set in the future on a distant planet where the humans are the aliens and some are greedy for natural resources the planet has. When the Na’vi, the blue skinned, large-eyed native people just want to live their peaceful lives without interference of the visitors. Although he is supposed to be gathering Intel for the evil general who’d like to lay waste to the planet and all its inhabitants. Read more

Avatar 3D DVD Delayed Till 2011
Leave it to Hollywood to piss away every ounce of good will they manage to earn. Reuters reports that Twentieth Century Fox intends to squeeze every dime they can out of Avatar's DVD sales. The Blu-ray 2D Avatar edition will launch in April, but it will be entirely devoid of special features. THAT version of the DvD won't hit until November.
The 3D edition of the DVD isn't expected to be out until some point in 2011. Avatar has made $2.64 billion so far, but I guess it's too much to ask a studio to not be money-grubbing opportunists. Fox claims that the first edition is being released devoid of features in order to use "all available storage space" to get the "best picture and sound" results.

Avatar: November 3D Blu-ray Release (2D April Release)
James Cameron has finally spilled the beans on the Avatar DVD launch dates. Yes, I did mean dates. Avatar is going to be yet another giant film that has an infuriating dual-launch. The 2D ('junky') version will hit stores in April, but we'll have to wait until November (TechRadar) to get our grubby mits on the 3D version.
Cameron told the Wall Street Journal that the first DVD will hit on April 22nd, Earth day. The 3D release was given a less specific launch date. Cameron's exact words; “I think November sometime.”

Avatar Is New Top Grossing Movie Of All-Time Waving Goodbye To Titanic
James Cameron did it again. Avatar just has taken the top spot as top grossing movie of all time beating Titanic. As you know Titanic was also directed by James Cameron as well. Cameron did not do any other movie since then. Titanic got released in 1998.
Avatar broke the $1.843 billion record of Titanic on Monday.
Experts expect Avatar go beyond $2 billion. The revenue is fueled by the more expensive 3D screenings of Avatar.
If you can make a $ billion grossing movie, you only need to do one every 12 years.

Avatar Sets 3D Movie Sales Record
Last Friday I shuffled down to the movie house to catch a showing of James Cameron's "Avatar" in glorious 3D. Like millions of other people, I was spellbound. Sure, the dialogue wasn't always A+ material and the plot seemed a little overly familiar. None of that mattered; I was focusing on the sheer beauty of Pandora. "Avatar" presents the viewer with an almost impossibly rich world, one that is brought to life more fully than I could have imagined thanks to new 3D technology.

Mattel unveils Avatar augmented Reality Toys at Comic-Con 2009
Mattel will bring the first Toy Line featuring Augmented Reality Technology at Comic-Con 2009. The augmented reality enabled toys will be launched with Cameron's much-anticipated film Avatar.
We have seen augmented reality already on smartphones, looks like toys are next.
Mattel will offer Avatar action figures, vehicles and creatures that come with a 3-D web tag, called an i-TAG, which you can scan using a home computer’s webcam.
Scanning the i-TAG will reveal special content onscreen unique to the corresponding product.
Exact content varies for each item, but could include biographical information, additional images and animated models of the figures. When the i-TAG for deluxe figures, vehicles or creatures are placed under a webcam, animated 3-D models will come alive through engaging, evading or defending moves. Place two i-TAGs from the Battle Pack together and the 3-D images will interact with each other.

Avatar: First 3D Stereoscopic Game, Says James Cameron
Yesterday at Ubisoft's E3 briefing the game developer gave the stage to renowned director James Cameron. The man behind Aliens, Terminator, and the upcoming Avatar movie had a lot to say about the Avatar game, designed by Ubisoft.
Avatar is going to be the first 3D stereoscopic title in gaming history, and Cameron was very enthusiastic about the enormous potential he thought Ubisoft's tie-in title would have. He promised that it would not just be a normal 'movie game', but rather an expansion of the franchise with new characters and a deeper exploration of the world than the film could provide.
