LG Electronics Wins 17 Awards, CES 2010
Today at the 2010 CES Innovations Awards LG Electronics swept 17 different honors. They received "Best of" recognition in Video Display, and also won awards in Eco-Design, Sustainable Technology, Online Audio/Video Content, High Performance Audio, and Wireless Handsets. The 2010 CES Awards mark LGs 100th award (and then some) in the last 7 years. I'd imagine some engineers are about to get hefty bonuses.

Logitech Wins 7 Awards at CES 2010
CES 2010 is only 2 month and change away, but the conference has already started handing out awards to some of the neatest products created this year. Logitech, maker of all sorts of awesome electronics, has won seven of these CES Innovations awards in 2009. All of these awards were for "excellence in design and engineering", They include;

Nintendo, Capcom Win Big at Japan’s Famitsu Awards
Japan’s leading videogame magazine, Famitsu, finally announced the winners of its 2008 awards, and in a display of differences between Japanese and American videogame tastes, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G took home the Game of the Year prize, with publisher Capcom being named Company of the Year.
Nintendo also fared well, with Wii Music, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros Brawl all winning awards.

Fallout 3 Wins Game of the Year at Developers Choice Awards
Fallout 3 has been crowned Game of the Year at the 9th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. The game also took home best writing honors as well. Fallout 3 was easily one of the best games to come out last year and is fantastic fun.
LittleBigPlanet took the most awards at the show winning Best Game design, Best Technology, Best Debut Game, and the Innovation Award. Prince of Persia won Best Visual Arts and God of War: Chains of Olympus won Best Handheld Game. Read more

Spike TV Announces 2008 Video Game Awards Winners
Spike held its Video Game Awards last night to crown the winners of some of the best video games of 2008. The show was hosted by Jack Black and was held for the sixth year to recognize outstanding games.
Best Game of the Year went to Grand Theft Auto IV; GTA IV also won best action adventure game of the year. Studio of the year award went to Media Molecule, which I have never heard of. Gears of War 2 won the title of Best Shooter, best music game went to Rock Band 2, and best soundtrack went to Rock Band 2. Read more

Annual Gran Turismo Awards at SEMA 2008 Crowns Best of Show
The best of show has been crowned at SEMA 2008 in the sixth annual Gran Turismo awards. The winner will be featured in a future Gran Turismo game. Gran Turismo is the best selling franchise in the world with over 50 million titles sold. The winner of the awards was JR Rocha and his 2007 Infinity G37.
Other winners at SEMA 2008 included Best Truck/SUV to John Wargo and his 1930 Chevy; Best European Import went to Robert Gal and his Volkswagen Concept. Best Domestic Automobile went to James Shipka and his 1967 Camaro Rally Sport, and Best Hot Rod went to Jason Lavign for the Factory Five Racing 1933 hot rod. Read more

NASA Awards Contract for New Space Suit
NASA announced yesterday that it had awarded a contract to Oceaneering International Inc for the design, development, and production of a new space suit system for manned space missions. The contract is a cost-plus-award-fee for a performance period from June 2008 to September 2014 with a value of $183.8 million.
The test period will cover everything from the development and testing to the first flight of the new suit, NASA says that suits and support system will be needed for as many as four astronauts on moon voyages and as many as six for the ISS. Read more

Megan Fox at MTV Movie Awards 2008 and in Transformers 2
Megan Fox spiced up the MTV 2008 Movie Awards when she accepted the Best Movie award for Transformers last night in LA.
Just Jared has several photos published of Megan Fox at the MTV Awards 2008. As reported in April, Megan Fox who starred in the first Transformers movie was voted sexiest Woman in the World by FHM readers.

Best Buy Awards Over $10 Million in gift Cards to HD DVD buyers
The end of the format wars between HD DVD and Blu-ray was good for most people, but for the early adopters out there who had backed HD DVD the failure of the format was not good news. To help appease customers that purchased HD DVD gear at Best Buy gift cards are coming.
Best Buy announced today that it will be giving out over $10 million in $50 gift cards to customers who purchased HD DVD hardware in its stores. The offer covers stand alone HD DVD players as well as HD DVD attachments, presumably for the Xbox 360. Read more

Foundation 9 Games Hit it Big at Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards
Foundation 9 Entertainment announced today that its Backbone Entertainment studio dominated the first ever Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards. Three of the developers Xbox LIVE Arcade games swept six of the ten categories in the show.
Among the awards won was Best Overall Arcade Game. "Backbone has been setting the bar for excellence on Xbox LIVE Arcade since the beginning," said F9E Chief Creative Officer Richard Hare. "Winning these awards solidifies our position as the leading developer on the platform, delivering high quality products that gamers love." Read more

Top Awards Go to COD4, Bioshock & The Orange Box
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences announced award recipients from its 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards last night. Call of Duty 4, Bioshock and the Orange Box each won five wards at the ceremony.
"The Interactive Achievement Awards is the forum for the industry's best game makers to evaluate the merits of more than 160 titles submitted for consideration and honor the best in technical innovation and gameplay experience," said Joseph Olin, president, AIAS. "This year's winners truly represent the best cross section of interactive entertainment, demonstrating the power of next-generation platforms that have come of age." Read more

Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet is big Winner of 2007 IDEA Awards
The results of the 2007 International Design Excellence Awards (2007 IDEA Awards) have been announced. The awards, sponsored by BusinessWeek, are presented by the Industrial Designers Society of America.
The big winner is the Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet by design firm IDEO and Eclipse Aviation. The Eclipse jet won in IDEA's research, interaction design, and transportation categories.
Overall the Eco Jet got two gold IDEAs and one silver award plus one Catalyst honorable mention. More details about the Eclipse 500 can be found on the Eclipse Aviation site.

Human Giant use Twitter at the MTV Movie Awards
Social messaging service Twitter gets some exposure at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. The guys from the MTV Show Human Giant are twittering live as they get ready for the show, walking the red-carpet and being in the audience.
So in case watching the MTV awards on TV is not enough, you can check out on Twitter what the guys are up to.

Japan Game Awards 2006: PS3 wins 3 and Wii gets 1
The Japanese Game Awards 2006 have been announced. These awards are part of the Tokyo Game Show.
In the future division, Sony won 4 awards for Sony PS3 games. Nintendo only has won one award.
The award winning PS3 games are: Gran Turismo HD, THE EYE OF JUDGMENT and Heavenly Sword.

The 10th Webby Awards Nominees Are Here
The Webby Awards Nominees were named in over 65 categories today.
New categories this year include Political Blog, Business Blog, Podcast, and Best Use of Video or Moving Image. NPR received with six the most nominations of any organization this year. Voting is open now. Cute Overload made it into the best Blogs, which is cute.
Winners will be announced on May 9, 2006 and honored at The 10th Annual Webby Awards on June 12 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The gala event, hosted by comedian Rob Corddry (he is funny alright) of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The Webby Awards have been Announced
The most famous internet awards have been handed out again. Interestingly several
prestigious categories have been won by UK sites.
BBC News won in the news category and The Guardian won the Newspaper category. UK's Virgin Radio wins the Radio category. BBC also scores in the Music category. Are US sites loosing their edge?

Computex Trends and Awards
Asus P505 wins Computex award.
The Computex 2004 Trade-Show attracted this year close to 118,000 visitors. That is 16 percent more compared to last year.
One big trend were Personal Video Players. MacWorld UK and The Register have good articles about that. This Christmas MP4 player will be much bigger than they are now. Many manufacturers will be offering them.
Large LCD TVs were another focus point for the Computex. Digitimes has a story with photos about the LCD TVs exhibited.
Computex also puts out awards. Asus wins an award in the mobile products category for its P505 Smart Phone. First International Inc wins in the same category with a bluetooth enabled MP3 Player.

CES 2004 Innovations Awards
On December 15, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)
announced the Best of Innovation Awards.
A lot of the winners are products that we have featured on I4U. The Fisher (aka Sanyo) Pocket Digital CamCorder won in the category Video. In the wireless communications category the HipTop (aka Sidekick) from Danger won.
Another one worth mentioning is the TAZ MP4 Player, which won in the personal electronics category.
