Warner Home Video Announces First BD-Live Movie
Warner Home Video announced that the latest Batman film titled The Dark Knight would be its first BD-Live movie offering content accessible via the internet. The BD-Live content will allow owners to host their own Live Community Screenings with friends as well as record and post their own commentaries over the film using the My WB Commentary feature.
The My WB Commentary feature allows viewers to post picture-in-picture commentary right over the movie as it plays. BD-Live content is only accessible over Internet-connected Blu-ray players and the PS3. Director Christopher Nolan will be hosting a BD-Live Community Screening at a date to be specified later. Sony BDP-S350 BD-Live Ready Blu-Ray Player on Sale
Sony announced the BDP-S350 Blu-ray Player back in February. The BDP-S350 has now started to ship on Amazon.com and other retailers.
The Sony BDP-S350 supports BonusView (Profile 1.1) (picture-in-picture), which is featured on select new Blu-ray Disc home video releases, and is also BD-Live ready, with an Ethernet port for easy firmware updates and access to Internet-based interactive content features. A firmware update enabling BD-Live is planned later this year.

ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater Gets BD-Live Certification
ArcSoft announced today that its TotalMedia theater software received BD-Live certification from the Blu-ray Disc Association. The certification makes the TotalMedia software the first PC application to get the certification.
"The new Blu-ray Disc movies with BD-Live present users with unique features of the next generation video players -- online interactive capability -- offering the ultimate entertainment experience beyond high definition," said George Tang, ArcSoft's Vice President and General Manager of Video and Home Entertainment Group. "BD Profile 2.0 certification guarantees compatibility with BD-Live specifications to ensure that users get the true BD-Live experience. BD-Live enabled Blu-ray Movies ship
If you want to experience BD-Live on your 2.20 firmware updated Sony PS3, the first BD-Live Blu-ray movies are shipping now.
The 6th Day ($19.95) and Walk Hard ($24.95) are the first Blu-ray titles that feature BD-Live and ship today from Amazon.com.

CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra Adds BD-Live Support
CyberLink announced today that its PowerDVD Ultra software now supports playback of BD-Live content. BD-Live is Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 and allows for advanced interactive disc content and multiplayer gaming, e-commerce, movie trailer downloads and more.

Sony PS3 Firmware 2.20 brings Blu-ray BD-LIVE
Sony announced PS3 firmware 2.20 today. The new firmware will add Blu-ray Disc (BD) Profile 2.0 (known as BD-LIVE).
