Baja: Edge of Control Ships
THQ announced today that its off-road racing game Baja: Edge of Control has now shipped to retail. The game is for the Xbox and PS3 game systems and is from the founding members of the MX vs. ATV franchise.
The game will retail for $59.99 and lets players experience the famous off-road race as they tackle mountains and unpredictable terrain in an effort to win the 1,000-mile race. The game includes 1,000 miles of open terrain, 160 sponsored vehicles from trophy trucks to buggies. Read more

Armor Rugged Computer Makes it Through Baja 500
I have often wondered exactly how rugged so-called rugged computers actually are. DRS set out to prove how rugged its Armor X10 Rugged Tablet PC was by strapping it onto the back of a motorcycle as the bike raced the Baja 500, widely known as one of the most brutal off road races in the world.
The computer used in the demonstration was a stock system that can be bought off the shelf and was using an Intel SSD. The PC ran for the entire 11 hours of the race through all sorts of shocks and vibration. Anyone who has ridden a dirt bike knows what sort of shock and vibration off-road riding causes. Read more

Baja 1000 Races to Game Consoles this Fall
Activision has announced it has a new racing game coming to the PS2, PS3, Xbox and Wii this fall called SCORE Baja 1000. Activision says it is a recreation of the world’s most grueling off-road race and recreates the unforgiving conditions and fast speeds the race is famous for.
The game has over 90 vehicles across multiple classes from the real race including trophy trucks, class I, motorcycles, ATVs and more. The race is not only to get across the finish line, but to keep your vehicle intact for the entire race. Read more
