Apple took 2nd place in the Smartphone market in the 3rd quarter with 17.3%. RIM is right behind Apple with 15.2% market share. The first place is still owned by Nokia with a 38.9% market share.
The Finnish handset maker lost big time last quarter compared to a year ago. Based on what Nokia is offering in the smartphone segment they will even loose more in Q4.
Now the question is if Apple can keep the lead on RIM. RIM is pushing out two new BlackBerry phones this quarter with the Bold and the Storm.

Free BlackBerry Bold after Rebate
AT&T has been offering the highly anticipated new BlackBerry Bold since Tuesday. The price of $299.99 is rather steep when compared to the iPhone or T-Mobile G1. Now wireless retailer LetsTalk is offering the BlackBerry Bold for free after a $199.99 mail-in rebate.
Of course free always comes at a price. In this case you need to sign a contract that is at least $79.99/month (AT&T Nation 1350 w/Rollover) for 2 years.

BlackBerry Bold on Sale today on Election Day at AT&T
AT&T officially offers the BlackBerry Bold starting today Tuesday November 4th.
AT&T says in their BlackBerry Bold announcement today that in addition to selecting the next president of the United States, Americans can make another choice on Election Day; to buy the sleek and stylish BlackBerry Bold smartphone.
So when you are done voting you can go down to the next AT&T store and queue again (I do not actually think that there is a line) for the Bold. Your boss won't notice, unless you hold the Bold straight up to his face with a big grin, when you come back to the office.

BlackBerry Bold Review
The highly anticipated BlackBerry Bold launches this week on AT&T Wireless. ZDNet has published a raving review of the BlackBerry Bold.
Quote from the review: "If you’re working for a company that’s a Blackberry shop, you should beg and plead for a Bold, and if your company won’t pay for it, you might consider forking over the $299 for it yourself (assuming your IT folks will give it access to their servers).

BlackBerry Storm Vodafone Pricing leaks
The BlackBerry Storm touch-screen phone was officially announced in early October, but the pricing information was still missing. Now apparently the pricing of the Storm on the Vodafone network has leaked according to SiliconRepublic.
The Vodafone pricing plans for the Storm are actually quite attractive. Under the smallest plan the Storm sells for 109 Euro (~$138). Under the top plan the Storm costs only 49 Euros (~$62).
If this pricing for the UK is any indication for the US, than this is good news. The BlackBerry Bold pricing of $299.99 did not support hopes for the Storm to be priced under $200.
