The Canon 50D DSLR Camera is one of or Top 100 Gift Tips for this Christmas. Our review partner tested the 15.1MP Canon 50D and published a review.

Canon announced the new 15.1MP Canon 50D DSLR camera this week. The Canon 50D is a bit more expensive than the Nikon D90. The higher resolution and the exceptional sensitivity of ISO 12,800 is surely to blame for the price difference.
Canon targets with the 50D advanced amateur photographers who blur the line between the hobbyist and the professional.
Canon is taking steps to give advanced amateurs more flexibility with a new "CA" Creative Full Auto setting on the EOS 50D Digital SLR camera's mode dial. This new setting goes a step beyond Full Auto, by allowing users to make adjustments before shooting while still in an Automatic mode, without needing to know the meaning of technical terms such as aperture, shutter speed, etc. Read more

Canon 50D DSLR Gets Official

Photos and specs for the Canon EOS 50D DSLR camera were leaked earlier this week. Accusations were flying that the camera was a fake, but now Canon has officially announced the 50D. The camera features a 15.1-megapixel resolution, expanded ISO range and enhanced noise reduction.

The image sensor is Canon's new DIGIC 4 unit and utilizes a new Creative Auto Mode to allow for creative image enhancement without needing to be a photography expert. The 50D can shoot 6.3 frames per second bursts of up to 90 large/fine JPEGS or 16 RAW images to a UDMA CF card. Read more
