Canon 50D Review
The Canon 50D DSLR Camera is one of or Top 100 Gift Tips for this Christmas. Our review partner tested the 15.1MP Canon 50D and published a review.
Quote from the review: "While point-and-shoot digicams muddle along without any super breakthroughs-14 megapixels? Big deal!-watching the brawl between D-SLR manufacturers is much more enjoyable.
Recently, Canon, Nikon and Sony have all introduced or announced digital single-lens reflex models that are leaping ahead of last year's cameras.
For example: Sony's new $3,000 A900 is the first full-frame 24.6MP model. Recently-resurgent Nikon unveiled the first D-SLR that records HD video-the $999 12.3MP D90. And, just a short time later, Canon announced the $2,699 EOS 5D Mark II, which has a 21.1-megapixel full-frame imager that also takes high-def videos. This clash of the titans is great news for photo enthusiasts who now have a wide range of D-SLRs to fit practically any desire. And, as we've said, it's also fun to watch. But frankly, it's even more enjoyable testing the devices. Case in point: We just reviewed the D90, and as a camera, it really shined.

Quote from the review: "The brand new PowerShot G10 is the most expensive and most feature-rich model in Canon’s extensive range of compact cameras. The G-series has long been the preserve of the keen enthusiast looking for a serious photographic tool that can still be easily slipped into a coat pocket. Canon EOS 50D Review
The PhotographyBlog published a review of the new Canon EOS 50D SLR camera. The Canon 50D is one of our Top 100 Holiday Gift Tips for 2008.
The Canon 50D sports a high resolution of 15.1MP amongst other great features.
Quote from the review: "The Canon EOS 50D is outwardly almost identical to its predecessor, the EOS 40D, having the same dimensions (145.5 x 107.8 x 73.5mm), and weighing 10g less at 730g without a lens fitted. Where cheaper entry-level DSLR cameras use plastics, the 50D has a magnesium alloy body which should make it more durable in the long term. The finish seems tough and resilient too, and the memory card and battery doors are dust and moisture resistant, making the 50D potentially better suited to hostile environments, whether they're encountered on a photo shoot in the Himalayas or a trip to the seaside. There's a textured area on both the deep hand-grip and around the thumb-rest on the rear of the camera, and unlike the cheaper 450D and 1000D models, this camera is perfect for everyone with normal to large-sized hands.

Canon VIXA HF11 HD Camcorder is I4U Top 100 Gift Tip #21
Camcorders have become smaller and smaller as the years have gone by and with the advent of HDTV, camcorders are now also going HD. It used to be that you had to go and buy tapes to be able to record your home videos, but today the vast majority of camcorders use some type of digital storage medium like flash memory or internal hard drives.
Canon recently announced a new line of camcorders including the VIXA HF11. The cool part about this camcorder is that you don’t have to settle on just one storage method for your videos. An internal hard drive is good, but once it is full you are done shooting until you can get to a computer to download the video. A camera that saves to SD cards is also good, but sometimes you can forget to bring memory cards along. Read more

Canon 50D DSLR is I4U Top 100 Holiday Gift Guide Tip #13
Canon announced the new 15.1MP Canon 50D DSLR camera this week. The Canon 50D is a bit more expensive than the Nikon D90. The higher resolution and the exceptional sensitivity of ISO 12,800 is surely to blame for the price difference.
Canon targets with the 50D advanced amateur photographers who blur the line between the hobbyist and the professional.
Canon is taking steps to give advanced amateurs more flexibility with a new "CA" Creative Full Auto setting on the EOS 50D Digital SLR camera's mode dial. This new setting goes a step beyond Full Auto, by allowing users to make adjustments before shooting while still in an Automatic mode, without needing to know the meaning of technical terms such as aperture, shutter speed, etc.
