Oncore Develops 6-Bay Battery Charger for Macs in Classrooms

Oncore Power Systems has announced a new 6-bay battery charger that is designed specifically for classrooms using Mac notebooks. The charger can keep six Mac batteries charged at the same time and an upgrade kit that includes the charger and six batteries is also available.

The charger measures 11" x 7" and can hold both MacBook and iBook batteries. Six batteries can be fully recharged in under 8-hours. The charger is available now for $395 and the price for the charger with six batteries is unknown. Read more

SANYO announced the eneloop USB charger set (including two AA size eneloop batteries).

The USB charger is able to charge two eneloop batteries using a USB connector.

The Sanyo eneloop batteries can be immediately used out-of-the-package following purchase, be recharged and used for approximately 1,000 times, and be recycled after being completely used.

At first glance I thought this was an ice bucket, and then I realized it wasn’t and had to be a portly holder for your toilet brush after you use it. Then I realized that was wrong too, it’s actually a gadget charging device so don’t put your wet toilet brush into it.

Cranking the small charger for about 3 minutes gives 20 minutes play-time. So you are just close to the high-score and then th charge is drained again unless you crank the little handle. Maybe it is better to get a couple of spare batteries. The gadget also works with the Gameboy Advance SP.

As I am writing this, I am ask myself: is there an actual market for this device? My mobile phone goes at least 2 days without charging. Additionally my charger is small and i have it in my bag when i am traveling.

Anyway, the Yuki Charger is compatible to most mobile phone brands and models. It comes with 10 different charger plugs. The Kiosk also features a display to run commercials. While charging users can use their phones. Yuki comes with a UV sanitizer compartment that kills germs and bacteria while battery charging is in progress.
