Corsair High Density DDR3 Memory for Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs Launched Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Corsair announced a new set of high density products for Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. These DIMMs are available in dual and triple channel configurations and are specifically tuned for Intel CPUs.

The 8GB and 12GB module kits feature Corsair’s DHX+ cooling technology, and sport new American Racing Blue fins and highlights. The dual channel configuration, part number CMD8GX3M4A1600C8, consists of four matched 2GB modules, optimized for P55 motherboards. The triple channel configuration, part number CMD12GX3M6A1600C8, consists of six matched 2GB modules, and is optimized for X58 motherboards.
Both sets of modules have XMP profiles set at 1600MHz, with CAS latency settings of 8-8-8-24. An Airflow fan with matching blue highlights is included with both the dual and triple channel configurations. Read more

The 128GB Flash Voyager GT is able to achieve read speeds of up to 32MB/sec and write speeds of up to 25.6MB/sec, with the limiting factor effectively being the speed of the USB 2.0 bus and operating system overhead.

The system debuted at Computex yesterday and was built in conjunction with ASEtec. The system promises to be easy to install with a closed system that is pre-filled with coolant.

According to Corsair, the H50 cools CPUs 30% more efficiently than stock CPU coolers are capable of. The system includes a copper plate that sits on the CPU, a 120mm radiator and a high-efficiency and low-noise fan. Read more

The company also makes power supplies for enthusiast PCs and has announced a couple new PSUs with a modular design. The modular PSU is a great way to reduce the clutter from unneeded cables inside a PC chassis.

The Corsair Professional Series PSUs are available in 850W and 750W capacities. Both units feature advanced DC-to-DC circuitry and meet 80 Plus Silver Certification offering up to 90% energy efficiency. The units also feature powerful single +12V rails and deliver full rated power output at 50C. Pricing for the PSUs is unknown at this time. Read more

Corsair Voyager Port Gets Official Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Back at the beginning of the month I talked a bit about the Corsair Voyager Port that was introduced at CeBIT in Germany. The device takes a normal USB flash drive and makes it a fully automated backup solution. Corsair says that the device will work with any flash drive, not Corsair drives alone.

The device includes backup software called NovaBackup 10 and after the software is installed, all you need to do is press the button on the Voyager Port to start your back up. The device will work best with a large capacity flash drive if you are backing up lots of data. Read more

Corsair is showing a new system at CeBIT called the Voyager Port that makes backing data up to a Voyager flash drive very easy.

The round device has a USB port and when a Voyager flash drive is plugged in, it automatically backs up data to the flash drive with one button press. The device uses NovaBackup 10 software which presumably allows you to pick and choose the files you want backed up. Read more

The memory is DDR3 RAM for the Intel Core i7 systems that need RAM with lower power requirements. The Core i7 and X58 chipset combo requires significantly less voltage for RAM than previous enthusiast platforms.

Corsair's RAM has a new black and red color scheme and uses the dual-path heat eXchange technology. Kits are available in triple-channel versions up to 6GB at 2000MHz with latencies of 7-8-7. Read more

Corsair Claims Title of Fastest Production DDR3 RAM Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Corsair has laid claim to the title of fastest production DDR3 RAM with the release of its new Dominator DDR3 RAM running at 2133MHz. The kit is part number TW3X2G2133C9DF and retails for $575. For that amount of cash you get two 1GB sticks for a total of 2GB of high performance RAM.

The RAM runs timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1333MHz and was tested by Corsair on an NVIDIA 790i based mainboard to run at 2133MHz. The Corsair modules have a lifetime warranty. The modules also use corsairs Dual-Path Heat Xchange cooling system. Read more

Corsair Labs has set the world record for the highest achieved DDR frequency of 2462MHz at CL=9. The record was set with a single-rank 1GB module.

The record setting frequency was validated by CPU-Z. The mainboard used for the record setting frequency was an Asus P5E3 premium based on the Intel X48 chipset. I wonder if this means we will be seeing higher frequency Corsair memory on the market soon. Read more

The Flash Voyager GT in 16GB capacity promises high performance with lots of storage space. Corsair promises data transfer rates that are 4x faster than standard flash drives.

According to Corsair moving a 1.63GB file to a normal flash drive takes 358 seconds. Moving the same file to the Corsair Flash voyager GT takes 98 seconds. The drive also has an all rubber housing to protect against shock and is water resistant as well. TruEncryption software offers 256-bit AES security for data and the drive is covered with a 10-year warranty. Read more

Corsair announced today that they are the first official licensee for Intel’s DDR3 Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) specification. Corsair says the certification will apply to its latest DDR3 modules.

Last week, OCZ announced DDR3 modules that are XMP capable. I’m not sure of the details on being an official licensee, but OCZ beat them to the punch with XMP modules. Read more
