EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB FTW Edition Review

Topic:

EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB FTW Edition Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Motherboards published a EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB FTW Edition review.

Quote from the review: "Wow, there is fast and then there is faster and then there's the fastest. The new EVGA GTX208 FTW Edition VGA card is the fastest single card solution we have ever had to grace our labs period; it's as fast as an entry level 9800GX2 and faster than dual 9800GTX's running in an SLI configuration. Usually with a release that comes so soon after a previous release you see just slight improvements in performance over its predecessor, but the GTX280 release brings over double the power of the 9800GTX. EVGA Adds USB Video Adapters to Lineup

Topic:

EVGA Adds USB Video Adapters to Lineup Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Kensington isn’t the only company bringing a new USB display adapter to market using DisplayLink technology. EVGA has added a pair of USB adapters to its product line called the UV12 and the UV16. The EVGA adapters are XP and Vista compatible only.

The EVGA UV12 supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 or 1440 x 900 widescreen. The UV16 ups the supported resolution to 1600 x 1200 or 1680 x 1050 widescreen. The adapters are stackable and up to four additional displays can be connected via the adapters to one PC. The adapters support mirrored desktop, extended display and a primary display. Exact pricing is unknown, but EVGA says both will retail for well below $100. If that is correct it makes them much cheaper than the Kensington adapter. Read more

With its predecessor, the GeForce 8800 GTX's, excellent pedigree the new GeForce 9800 GTX certainly has some pretty big shoes to fill. EVGA NVIDIA 790i SLI Ultra and 9800GX2 1GB Review

Topic:

EVGA NVIDIA 790i SLI Ultra and 9800GX2 1GB Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Motherboards published a review of the EVGA NVIDIA 790i SLI Ultra and 9800GX2 1GB graphics card.

Quote from the review: "The new 790i motherboard brings NVIDIA up to speed on many of the features that have left them a bit dragging behind Intel for the last two quarters and makes a strong comeback on the new 790i. DDR3 was one of the most lacking features in the 780i series and is addressed well in the 790i as it can handle up to 2000MHz EPP DDR3 memory without a hitch. This and PCIe 2.0 are the main new features to be seen here and they both bring a bit more performance to the table when combined with the right system parts that enable these features to shine. The new 9800GX2 is a great card for anyone who has a 24” or bigger monitor as the card really begins to rock in resolutions of 1920X1200 or larger.
