FCC Documents Point to Treo 500 in America
Last week I wrote about the Palm announcement of the new Treo 500v for Vodafone in Europe. Today I found some FCC documents that show approval of the Treo 500 and 500v for sale in America.
While there are no images attached to the FCC report for the phone, we could assume that the phone will share all the same features as the Treo 500V released in Europe. Read more

FCC Leaks ASUS Internet Radio
ASUS has a new Internet radio device that has cleared the FCC. It is named simply ASUS Internet Radio. The device ships with an old school looking radio in what appears to be a walnut colored case, a remote control and an AC adapter.
The device is stand-alone and needs no PC to operate. You simply plug it into your network via a RJ45 jack on the rear and it has an up to date list of more than 10,000 online radio stations. Read more

FCC Leaks Details of Logitech's Pure-Fi Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Today Logitech announced their new Pure-Fi system for the iPod that’s sort of like an alarm clock. Now the FCC has leaked another new product in the Pure-Fi range, this time a Bluetooth speaker.
The only image on the FCC site is the one you see listed here, which is of the base and back of the speaker. What can be gleaned from the FCC report is that the speaker will use Bluetooth technology for connecting wirelessly. Read more

Option GlobeTrotter Express HSUPA Gets FCC Approval
Option announced today that their GlobeTrotter HSUPA device is the first HSUPA data card to get FCC approval for sale in the United States. Now that the card is approved for sale in the U.S. we should see it begin to trickle into mobile service providers product lists.
The HSUPA technology allows for increased upload and download speeds to enrich mobile broadband technology. The device uses the slim 34mm ExpressCard slot and is able to achieve peak HSDPA download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA upload rates of near 2 Mbps. Read more

ASUS Seeks FCC Approval for R600 GPS Device
The first word on the ASUS R600 GPS device made its rounds back in July, but today we found an FCC filing where ASUS is seeking approval to sell the GPS device here in America.
The R600 can support video, MP3’s, and photos as well when your not using it for your trip. The screen is a 4.3” 480 x 272 pixel WQVGA unit. Read more

Nike Amp+ iPod Watch seen passing FCC
The new Nike Amp+ iPod remote control watch passed the FCC.
There is no information yet available when Nike is releasing this new accessory.
The Nike iPod remote control lets you set the time, and control volume/track playback on the iPod.

Nokia happy about latest FCC Decision
The FCC ruled on the 700Mhz spectrum yesterday. Nokia issued a note applauding the FCC decision to implement rules requiring a portion of the 700MHz spectrum being auctioned next year to be made available for "open access" for devices and services.

FCC Clears iLuv i705 FM Transmitter for iPod
It’s not like you couldn’t guess from the name that the iLuv i705 is intended for your beloved iPod. While the iPod that the transmitter is intended for isn’t mentioned, the i705 looks just like the iPod Nano I have so it is safe to assume that is the intended target.
The transmitter allows you to send your tunes directly from your iPod to any FM radio and allows you to choose the frequency that best suites your needs and your area. The frequency range is from 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz. Read more

FCC stops thinking about allowing Mobile Phone Use on Airplanes
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has stopped proceedings to consider allowing cell phone use during flights.
The FCC cites insufficient technical information on whether the use of cellular phones onboard aircraft may cause harmful interference to terrestrial networks, as the reason to stop the proceedings.

Sirius Stiletto 100 Got FCC Number and Pre-Order is On Again
Pre-Order of the Sirius Stiletto 100 stopped about 2 weeks ago. Now it is back.
There was no official statement on the why, but the most likely reason was that the FCC number was still not issued. Now the Sirius Stiletto 100 is available again for pre-order on Crutchfield and others.
There is still no shipping date for this hot portable audio player.

Two XM Radios Suspended Because of FCC Restrictions
XM recently announced that they are suspending the sales of the Delphi SKYFi2 and Audiovox Express radio installation kits because of an FCC probe that confirmed that the two products' signal strengths exceeded federal limits.
According to letters sent to Delphi and Audiovox, the products, which are used to play XM content on ordinary radios, may interfere with surrounding FM transmissions. XM radios that are factory installed in cars are not affected.
