iPod Scam Lands 23-year-old some Federal Charges

Federal charges have been made against Nicholas Arthur Woodlands from Michigan who was running a scam against Apple that resulted in him stealing somewhere around 9,000 iPod shuffle music players from the company over a period spanning March 2006 to October 2007.

Apple sued the man in June 2008 and now federal charges are pending against Woodhams. Woodhams was somehow able to correctly guess the valid serial numbers of iPod shuffle units that were under warranty and had Apple send him replacement products. Read more

Printies Design Studio Lets Kids Create Stuffed Toys at Home

A new toy kit that allows kids to design and print their own stuffed toys is now available called Printies Design Studio. The Design Studio kit and refill packs are designed to be an affordable activity to help kid's creature their own creatures.

The system uses a PC and a normal ink jet printer with special Printies fabric sheets. Once printed the design can be removed from the dual sided sheet and stuffed. The system works with no gluing, the sheets are pre-sewn, and no mess is associated with the project. Read more

Sony's FET enters FED Mass-Production end of 2009

Sony owns 40% of Field Emission Technologies (FET), which develops nano-Spindt FED (Field Emission Display) technology. FED technology has the capability to actually overtake OLED if everything works out as planned. Read more

Sony demonstrated the current state of their FED (Field Emission Display) TV display technology in Japan.

Sony introduced a 19.2 inch FED panel. The specifications of this FED display are quite interesting with 1,280×960px resolution, a brightness of 400cd/m2, a contrast of 20,000: 1 and 0.306mm pixel pitch. Read more

PalmOne LifeDrive 4GB PDA on Sale

Launching products during E3 is maybe not such a good idea. Anyway the rumored PlamOne LifeDrive Mobile Manager is now available for $499 from the PalmOne Store.

Amazon.com, which leaked LifeDrive photos a couple days ago, is not offering the new PDA yet.

The LifeDrive features a 4GB hard-drive, built-in Wi-fi and Bluetooth and 320x480 TFT screen with 16bit colors. It runs on a Intel 416Mhz XScale CPU with Palm OS 5.4 (Garnet). The only other PDA I know that features a 4GB hard-drive is the Sharp Zaurus SC-C3000, which only sells officially in Japan.
