Website of Spaceship Measuring is a Must for Sci-fi Fans
I am a very multifaceted geek, in addition to being a computer geek, a gadget geek and a PC gaming geek I am quite the connoisseur of sci-fi making me a sci-fi geek. I came across a website completely devoted to putting the spaceships from some of the most popular sci-fi films and books into understandable measurements for comparison.
If you have ever tried to wrap your head around how large a Battlestar is or exactly how much bigger a Super Star Destroyer is than a lesser simple Star Destroyer this is the site for you. Read more

Sony PS3 Fans Not Lining Up Yet in Japan
It is now Friday 10th of November 1am in the morning in Japan. The Sony PS3 will be in stores in bit more than 24 hours. There is apparently nobody camping out in front an electronics store - rather unusual.
IGN published today an investigative report on the Sony PS3 situation in Japan. They did not find any lines for the Sony PS3 yet. Reasons for this might be that the supply per store is just ridiculously low. We talk 5 on average. (Kotaku has some details on that). Some stores will do a lottery. They hand out tickets starting Saturday morning.
The fun part in the IGN report is that they found two lines. One was for the Nintendo DS Lite and one was to pre-order the Nintendo Wii.

ESPN's ''Ace'' Phone For Sports Fans
The nationwide launch of ESPN's wireless service was about 4 months ago, and it has yet to really pick up steam. Yesterday, ESPN re-invigorated their mobile service by showing off their new phone, the Samsung ACE.
It's a very thin, 3.5 oz phone with all the features you'd expect from a medium-end phone -- 1.3 MP camera, 30-second camcorder, and Bluetooth. There's also a button near the top of the phone that connects you directly to the ESPN Mobile services.

Will March 15th Mark an Important Day for Sony PS3 Fans?
Sony confirmed a business briefing in Japan for tomorrow March 15th to announce something about the PS3.
Update:
Sony PS3 delayed until November 2006
The Sony meeting starts at 3pm Tokyo Time, that is 9 hours from now. It is not clear what Sony will say about their Sony Playstation 3 plans. Some more details can be found in this Reuters report.
I do not think the news will be big enough for me to get up in the middle of the night. So I will see what the story is tomorrow while sipping my morning coffee. Somehow I wish I would spill coffee all over my keyboard reading it, but I am the realistic type - it will not happen.

Sony PS3 Fans need to Buy a Microsoft Xbox 360?
Based on an analyst report circulating this week that Sony might delay the Sony PS3 launch to 2007 if the Microsoft Xbox 360 is a flop.
Continuing this thought one could think this would imply that Sony PS3 fans should buy a Xbox 360 to make sure they get a Sony PS3 in 2006.
My opinion is that it will not be that easy for Sony. The Microsoft Xbox 360 will most likely be a hit. Halo 3 and Xbox Live are just some of the hot
arguments for the Xbox 360. More discussions on this topic on Slashdot.

Sony PS3 Controller splits Fans
The Sony Playstation 3 design of the Console got received mostly well on the discussion boards around the web. The story is different for the Sony PS3 controller. It's 'extreme' boomerang shape raises eyebrows to say the least.
A friend of mine says silver plastic always looks bad. He waits for the black controller. For me I think the controller could be very ergonomic. The long ends sure will lay nicely in my hands. And anyway there is another year time to get used to it.
Find a large photo of the controller here.
