Walmart Offers Father's Day Deals

Father's Day will be here before you know it and starting on June 14th Walmart will be offering some good deals for Father's Day gift giving. The retailer will offer a Magnavox NB500GMx Blu-ray player for $128 and certain Blu-ray movies at two for $20.

A PS3 bundle for $399 will get an 80GB console and a copy of Quantum of Solace and MLB '09 the Show. If dad needs a new TV, a Sanyo 37-inch 720p model will sell for $398 and a Vizio 42-inch 1080p model will sell for $697. There is also a Wii bundle, it will include Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 All-Play. The Godfather Part II for PC Review

GamePyre published a review of the The Godfather Part II for PC game.
Quote from the review: "Now, if you are not a big fan of the Mafia, you may find The Godfather II quite a bit redundant. The point of the game is to take over businesses from rival families in order to weaken them to the point of extermination. There's a lot of back and forth battles over turf and after your 4th or 5th visit at the same business location might be a bit boring, since I really enjoy mobster movies and even documentaries, I don't find this back and forth aspect of the game annoying. Also, keep in mind that this game is rated M (mature 17+) for Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Themes and Strong Language so if you find the things on the rating list offensive, you may want to stay away from this title because there is a plethora of all the above things. We are looking at the new video game launching today called Godfather II. The game is the successor to the original Godfather game from EA and adds new play elements that fans of the original will enjoy.

Father of the iPod leaves Apple

The WSJ reports that senior executive Tony Fadell has left Apple. Tony Fadell is senior vice president of Apple's iPod division and also known as Father of the iPod.

Mr. Fadell apparently approached Apple with the idea of a portable digital music player paired with a download music service back in 2001. The rest is history. Read more

Circuit City Survey Finds what Dad’s Want for Father’s Day

Circuit City has conducted a survey of dads to find out what exactly they want for Father’s Day. I am here to tell you that a tie or coffee cup doesn’t make the list. The survey said that 75% of dads feel a GPS would make the quality of a family road trip better.

The survey showed that 30% of dads thought a portable DVD player was important, 27% thought laptops were important, 24% said MP3 players, 23% said handheld games and 20% said upgraded car stereos. I guess we can assume the items ranked as important are the items dads want as gifts. Read more
