EA FIFA 09 Sells 1.2M in EU in a Week
EA Sports has announced that its newest FIFA 09 game has sold more than 1.2 million copies in its first week in European retail outlets. FIFA 09 fans in American and Asia will be able to get their hands on the game on October 14th.
FIFA 09 was designed to deliver platform specific experiences on each of the consoles it ships for including PS3, Xbox, Wii, PS2, PC, PSP, and Nintendo DS. EA Sports has made the game work on all available gaming platforms save the mobile phone. Read more

EA Unveils Adidas Live Season for FIFA Soccer 09
EA announced a new service for FIFA Soccer 09 called Adidas Live Season that will dynamically update players in game on a weekly basis to allow players in the video game to mimic their real-world counterparts. The service will be available for Barclay's Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Mexican Primera Division for the PS3 and Xbox as well as PC.
This feature adds dynamic real world data and analytics to the game and adds a huge amount of authenticity for players. Gameplay will change as the performance of the players and soccer teams in the real world changES, allowing gamers to experience the highs and lows of the campaign. If the player in the real world has a good week, the same player in the video game will play better. At the same time if your player has a bad week; it's reflected in the game as well. Read more

EA Announces Tracks for FIFA 09 Soundtrack
In America, the sports game that most gamers look forward to each year in the newest edition of Madden NFL. However, other countries where football actually means soccer gamers are probably looking more forward to FIFA 09 from EA.
Today, EA Sports announced the song list that will be featured in FIFA 09, and it's a big list. You can see the full list after the jump. EA says the game makes players think as a team, rather than an individual with modes like Be a Pro 10 vs. 10 online team play. The team play functional is available on the PS3 and Xbox 360. EA Sports says that its FIFA 09 soccer game provides a platform specific experience with the PS3 and Xbox featuring over 250 core gameplay enhancements for realistic action. The game will be available on the PS3, Xbox, Wii, PS2, Nintendo DS, and PSP.
FIFA 09 is set for release this fall. The game allows players on the PS3 and Xbox to customize gameplay to their style and new animation makes passing and shooting easier. Players will be able to customize the strategy and positioning of players. Read more

EA & FIFA Sponsor FIFA Interactive World Cup 2008
EA and FIFA are looking for the best virtual soccer player in America with an Interactive World Cup game. The live qualifying event will be held on March 1st in LA. EA says that up to 50 competitors can pre-register for the event and the remaining 78 spots will be filled first come first serve.
The tournament will be held at a GameStop in Universal City, CA. "The FIFA Interactive World Cup is where true world champions are crowned," said Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho. "I am sure the competitors will feel the same excitement as we players do when entering the field at a FIFA World Cup. So don't miss the action leading up to the Grand Final in Berlin, on the 24th of May." Read more

EA Says FIFA 08 Will Support 10 Player Online Play
EA announced today that FIFA 08 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 will have an update a few weeks after the game ships that allows up to 10 players to join for an online game of soccer.
The play mode is called Be a Pro and is a new play mode in this FIFA release. Players get real-time feedback and camera angles that follow their player for ideal views of their game. Interactive Leagues are also included in the game allowing you to represent your club online against your rivals. Read more

EA Games published a playable demo of the upcoming FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360 market place for you to download.
The Xbox 360 FIFA 07 Games will be released on October 31st.
Amazon.com takes pre-orders for $59.95.
The demo download is a hefty 830MB. But this way you can find out if the new FIFA 07 is worth to buy.

Toshiba dynabook 2006 FIFA World Cup Limited Edition Notebook
Toshiba announces a limited edition 2006 FIFA World Cup notebook with a 'bling bling' gold cover.
Toshiba will only sell 600 of the dynabook TX/870LSFIFA. Toshiba covered the 15.4 inch notebook with gold and imprinted the FIFA World Cup Trophy on it - pure soccer kitsch. The desktop of the dynabook TX has also a soccer theme.
The only person I can imagine to own one of these limited edition notebooks in style is Franz Beckenbauer - maybe.

If you guys would have just wanted the Xbox 360 less than you did, you might have been treated like the Japanese to a FIFA World Cup Xbox 360 Bundle.
Microsoft announces the Xbox 360 Blue Limited Edition: 2006 FIFA World Cup for the Japanese market.
Hey, if you can theme a voodoo doll with the Soccer World Cup, it is totally reasonable to do it with game console.
The Xbox 360 Blue will be released on April 27th with the launch of Electronic Arts' 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany soccer game. There will be 10,000 bundles. Not sure if the Japanese market can take that many.

Toshiba Qosmio G30 Comes with FIFA World Cup Ticket
The new high-end TV notebook Qosmio G30 from Toshiba will be sold in Germany bundled with a ticket to a soccer game at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
The Toshiba Qosmio G30 has been already announced (Japanese) in Japan a couple of weeks ago. Toshiba is an official FIFA World Cup sponsor, so they have access to lots of tickets. Many soccer fans are still hunting for tickets to see a game at the World Cup. I am not sure if buying a Notebook is the best way to get one, but why not.
The Intel Core Duo Notebook features a 17 inch screen, 2 100GB or 120GB HDD that can be configured as RAID, TV Tuner and DVD drive.

Casio Official 2006 FIFA Soccer World Cup G-Shock Watches
Wrist Dreams reports about Casio introducing two new official FIFA 2006 Soccer World Cup G-Shock watches in Japan.
Casio has several World Cup Countdown clocks setup in Germany. Many companies use the Soccer World Cup as marketing platform for all sorts of products.
Both new Casio G-Shock watches are white and have a somewhat minimalistic look. The 2006 Soccer World Cup Germany logo is on the backside of the watch.
The Casio G-Shock GW-56RTWC (photo) features a special stop watch for Soccer games. It can keep track of actual play-time and over-time due to breaks.
The new Casio GW-056WCJ is a radio controlled solar powered G-Shock watch. Radio wave reception works in Japan and US.

FIFA Tests Intelligent Adidas Soccer Ball
The FIFA (Federation Internationale De Football Association) tested successfully an Adidas Soccer ball with an integrated microchip.
The microchip is used to signal when the ball is passing the goal line. The chip sends out an encrypted radio signal to several antennas. The chip inside the soccer ball measures 15mm. Soccer players cannot find a difference to standard soccer balls.
The intelligent ball will be tested next in Japan. Maybe it will be used at the Soccer World Cup in Germany 2006.
