Sony unveiled (pdf) officially the first 250GB Sony PS3 Slim Bundle. At the TGS 2009 Sony announced the rumored higher capacity PS3 Slim officially for the Japanese market.
Japanese Sony fans can get a so called PS3 FINAL FANTASY XIII LIGHTNING EDITION bundle pack (CEJH-10008) that will be available on December 17, 2009.
This bundle includes a ceramic white 250GB PS3 Slim with FF design, FF XIII Game, Wireless Controller, and cables. Read more

Final Fantasy XIII For Sony PS3 Release Date December 17th In Japan

Square Enix announced the release date of the next Final Fantasy version for the Sony PS3. Final Fantasy XIII will launch on December 17th in Japan.
The Final Fantasy series has sold more than 85 million units worldwide since it was first launched in 1987.

FF fans outside of Japan will have to wait until Sprint 2010 to play FFXIII. Read more

Final Fantasy 7 On The iPhone?

Yeah, you heard that right. Everyone's favorite console game of the late 90's has been emulated for the 3GS. While no one's come out with a perfect way to jailbreak the 3GS yet, some enterprising folks have managed get GBA and PSX emulators running on the new smartphone. 9-to-5 Mac has a video of Final Fantasy 7 in action on the 3GS, and promises that other emulators are also running “close to native”.

From what I can see, the FF7 emulator looks pretty much perfect right now. The on-screen controller takes up an annoying amount of space, but it looks fairly intuitive. The gameplay is very smooth and the graphics look great on the iPhone. I can think of few better ways to pass time than by having the full version of FF7 loaded on a smartphone.

Final Fantasy XIV: Online announced for 2010

Yesterday during the Sony E3 conference the gaming giant announced the development of a new title in the massively successful Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy XIV will be the next online Final Fantasy game, taking the series in a futuristic, sci-fi direction.

Sony gave us a massive gameplay video during their presentation, which showed off some truly awesome special effects. There were some fantastic aircraft battles and, of course, the obligatory giant tentacled monster. I didn't catch any Chocobos (or Biggs and Wedge for that matter) but I think we can rest assured that all of the classic Final Fantasy elements will be in attendance.

Final Fantasy 7: Out today on the PlayStation Network

Moments ago, Sony announced that more than 50 classic PlayStation 1 games were being put up for download on the PlayStation Network. One of those new games is out today; Final Fantasy 7 is back.

FF7 is one of the most successful role-playing games in history, and original copies of the PS1 game routinely sell online for more than their old retail price. Now fans of the legendary Square classic can play their favorite game once more.

Sony offers yet another limited edition Sony PSP Bundle. This time Final Fantasy fans are the target. The New Dissidia: Final Fantasy Sony PSP Pack includes Mystic Silver PSP-3000 system, DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY game, FINAL FANTASY VII Advent Children on UMD and 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo.

The new FF PSP bundle is a Gamestop (via Sony PB) exclusive and sells for $199.99. This sounds all quite nice so far. What is not really cool is that this new limited edition PSP bundle is shipping in August 25th. Hello? That is over three months from now. Read more

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon Announced

Square Enix announced today that a Wii exclusive Final Fantasy Fables title would be coming on July 8, 2008. The game will bring Chocobo and his friends to the Wii platform for the first time. The game promises something for players of all skill levels thanks to the intuitive controls for the Wii console.

Trademark job classes are available in the game including black mage, knight, and scholar. Other jobs can be unlocked as the game progresses. Features of the game include the ability to duel against friends via Wii Wi-Fi connection, Mog House mini-games and more. Read more

Tons of games are being announced and released today and the latest announcement comes for the Nintendo DS. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates ships in America today. The game is published by Square Enix and is available exclusively on Nintendo DS.

Final Fantasy XII announced

Japanese Game Developer Square Enix held a press conference in Japan today presenting Final Fantasy XII.

The 12th installment of the hyper successful game seems to try to push the boundary of role play gaming once more.
The game features a full 3D world that players can freely move about and control the camera angle.

GamePro has some predictions on the game play based on what was shown at the press-conference. Japanese watch.impress has photos from the press-conference.

Visit the official Final Fantasy XII (ff12.com) Site for game previews presented in a cool flash. The Game is expected for Summer 2004.
