Sony PS3 Firmware 3.10 Features Facebook Integration
Sony is going to release the new firmware 3.10 for the Sony PS3 soon. On their official blog Sony is giving a preview of the new Sony PS3 firmware 3.10.
With firmware 3.10 you will be able to link your PSN account with your Facebook account. By linking your PlayStation Network account to your Facebook account, you will have the option for the Sony PS3 to automatically update your Facebook News Feed with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity.

Canon 7D Gets Firmware Update
Canon issued a firmware update for the new Canon 7D. Canon announced the new Canon Eos 7D DSLR camera in early September and it is now on sale on Amazon.com.
The mid-range DSLR Canon EOS 7D features 8fps continuous shooting, 8MP resolution and full HD video recording with variable frame rates and manual exposure control.

Firmware Update To Make BlackBerry Storm Not Suck?
The BlackBerry Storm has some issues. It's been panned by many critics, and users alike for it's slow speed, buggy nature, and sub-par touchscreen. For a phone that was supposed to bring RIM back into the winner's circle, the Storm was pretty much a complete failure. Fortunately, it looks like RIM has fixed the major problems of the Storm, just in time to release the vastly superior Storm 2.
If you're one of the folks who bought a Storm and immediately regretted it, you could be about to get restitution. PhoneArena reports that there is a firmware update en route to you right now. This update will make the Storm and Storm 2 "practically identical" when it comes to software.

500GB Archos 5 Android Ships And New Firmware Supposed To Fix Issues
The Archos 5 Android Internet Tablet started shipping earlier this month. Back then only the 160GB and the 32GB Archos 5 Android players were available. Now the top of the line 500GB Archos 5 Android ships as well for $499.99 from Amazon.com.
Over the last days Archos 5 Android users reported issues with their device and Amazon actually stopped offering the 160GB model due to customer reports.

Sony Rumored To Announce PS3 Firmware 3.0 and New Home Besides PS3 Slim
As reported Sony will hold its highly anticipated Gamescom press conference today at 6pm local time (noon EDT). For a couple of weeks now Sony has been expected to introduce a new Sony PS3 Slim console along with a major PS3 price-cut.
The Sony Gamescom 2009 media event is scheduled to last for 3 hours. There must be more than a Slim PS3. We found some more rumors and pointers on what Sony will unveil today.

New MacBook Pro Firmware fixes SATA Speed
There has been a lot of buzz around the issue that the new 13 and 15 inch MacBook Pro notebooks are not supporting SATA 3Gbps drives as the former MacBook Pros. According to Apple the issue has only been reported by a small number of customers.
In any case Apple answered to the problem with a new EFI firmware update for the MacBook Pro that fixes the issue.
Apple added this disclaimer: "While this update allows drives to use transfer rates greater than 1.5Gbps, Apple has not qualified or offered these drives for Mac notebooks and their use is unsupported."

Firmware Update Unlocks GPS On HTC Touch.
Congratulations, erstwhile owners of the HTC Touch! Your crippled smartphone is about to recieve a massive firmware update that, among other things, will unlock your GPS so you can actually use it without needing VZ Navigator.
Today Verizon approved this firmware update to the xv6850 Touch Pro. In addition to unlocking the GPS (which Verizon promised Touch owners last year) the update adds Visual Voicemail support (for an extra $3/mo) and EVRC-B codec support. With this new update call handling should be much smoother, and Touch owners will finally be able to use Google Maps and Windows Live Search.

Sony PS3 Firmware 2.76 coming
In early April Sony released PS3 Firmware 2.70 that brought text chat to the PS3. Today Sony informed that yet another PS3 firmware is on the way with firmware 2.76.
The new Sony PS3 Firmware 2.76 is only a minor update that improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software.

Sony PS3 Firmware 2.70 lets you Text Chat
If you are a proud owner of the Sony PS3 you are getting yet another firmware update. The new Sony PS3 firmware 2.70 offers a couple of new features including text chat.
The new Sony PS3 text chat feature lets you set up a chat room, select anyone from your Friends list and invite them in – they’ll see an icon in the corner of their screen and know they’re wanted in your chat room.
Up to 16 people can join the same room to chat using a controller, a connected keyboard or a Wireless Keypad. You can start a chat while you’re halfway through a game.

Apple releases 2nd Beta of iPhone 3.0 Firmware
Two weeks ago Apple released the first beta of the next iPhone OS for the iPhone 2009 to developers. Now Apple released the 2nd beta of the iPhone 3.0 firmware (iPhone OS beta 2 build 7A259) featuring the essential Push Notification Service.
The server side for the Push Notifications feature will be opened gradually to developers. Push Notifications are Apple's way to have Apps keeping track of changes in the background.

iPhone 3.0 Beta Firmware Screenshots show the new Goods
The iPhone 3.0 beta version got distributed right away after the iPhone 3.0 firmware preview to developers. It did not take long for a wealth of screenshots to appear showing the new features of the upcoming iPhone 3.0 OS.
Apple Insider published a nice selection of iPhone 3.0 screens showing the new features including Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight search and the somewhat graphically over the top voice memo app.

Apple unveiled the best Copy and Paste in the World in iPhone 3.0 Firmware
It happened. Apple just unveiled the copy and paste functionality for the iPhone in the iPhone 3.0 OS preview event.
It is of course the best ever implementation of copy and paste on a touchscreen user interface in the world. Why else would it have taken that long to develop?
Fun aside, the feature looks pretty neat. You select with your finger and some buttons (copy, cut, paste) appear to let you choose what to do with the selection.

Apple Tablet rumored to be Surprise at iPhone 3.0 Firmware Preview Event
Apple invited the media to a preview event of the iPhone 3.0 OS taking place tomorrow. ComputerWorld's Seth Weintraub writes that Apple might have a surprise up its sleeve and unveil the very long rumored Apple tablet.
Apple might unveil a 10 inch device that basically resembles an iPod touch. The 10 inch device would not be a full netbook, but would be a very nice media and online device.

iPhone 3.0 Firmware Feature Rumors build up
As reported Apple will give a preview of the iPhone 3.0 firmware tomorrow, Tuesday March 17th, to the media. The rumors of what the new iPhone 3.0 OS will contain have built up over the weekend.
Rumors of the features of the iPhone 3.0 already started a while ago with background process support and multi-core CPU support. A favorite prediction is the Cut and Paste feature that is already the basis for iPhone ridicule from WinMo and BlackBerry users.
