2010: The Year of the Flat-screen TV?
LED or LCD flat-screen TVs are really nice to have, but for most people they've also been prohibitively expensive. Price has really started to drop in recent months, and some of the leading flat-screen manufacturers think that we're on the brink of a huge surge in demand.
LG expects to see sales of flat-screen jump by almost 50% in 2010, according to an ABC news report. They anticipate total sales of 17 million this year, and another 25 million LCD TV sales in 2010. LG also expects plasma TV sales (Bloomberg) to rise about 33% to 4 million in 2010. Flat-screen sales are supposed to kick off this holiday season, and continue to rise through the first half of next year.

Open Air inflatable Screens at Target.com
I have talked about the Open Air Cinema screens before. The screens make watching movies outdoors fun and allow many users to watch the films at once. The inflatable screens are sort of like those bounce houses kids enjoy and include an air compressor to keep them inflated.
Open Air has announced that its line of screens are now available at Target.com. Three sizes are available including 10, 14, and 18-foot. All three sizes promise theatrical grade projection surfaces that are backed with black material to block sunlight from the rear. Read more

Open Air Cinema Announces 16-foot Inflatable Movie Screen
Open Air Cinema has announced its new and largest 16-foot inflatable outdoor movie screen. The screen measures 16' x 9' and offers a 220" diagonal projection surface. The projection surface is a matte white, wrinkle resistant material.
The screen is backed with black material to improve contrast ratio and prevent light from entering from behind. The screen inflates like a bounce house and includes a blower to keep it inflated. When deflated the screen weighs 20 pounds and stores in a bag for transport. The screen retails for $999 and is available as part of the CineBox Home backyard theater system. Read more

Flatshare Refrigerator Concept Wins Design Contest
Each year Electrolux holds a design contest called the Electrolux Design Lab competition. The winner of this year's competition was Stefan Buchberger who designed a refrigerator concept called the Flatshare for people who live with roommates.
The concept is a base station and up to four stackable modules. Each module allows a roommate to have their own refrigerator space and can be customized with skins and add-ons. Side handles make transporting the modules easy. The catch seems to be the very limited space. You can’t even get a pizza box in the modules from the looks of the design. Read more

Flat Out Ultimate Carnage PC Review
GamePyre published a review of the Flat Out Ultimate Carnage PC Review.
Quote from the review: "What can I say? This game rocked. Every single aspect of the game was impressive. The sound was great (awesome crashing effects and a kicking soundtrack), the graphics were just phenomenal from every single aspect and perspective. The cars are beautifully rendered and they crumple up just as beautifully in case of a collision.

Chief CM8T15U Automatic Adjusting Flat Panel TV Mount
For many flat screen TV owners wall mounting is the only option to get a TV into some rooms. In some spaces the TV can’t be mounted at an ideal height for use and a mount is needed that can tilt the TV for better viewing angles.
Often, tilting mounts have to be positioned manually by simply grabbing the TV and moving it to the angle desired. Chief has announced a new mount that will automatically adjust to a pre-set angle for viewing. Read more

TV Makers Predict 20% - 30% Drop in 2007 Flat Screen Prices
If you're planning on heading out to Best Buy in the next couple months to buy a 42" flat-panel LCD, you may want to wait around a little bit until next year -- not just because it'll give you an extra 12 months to figure out how to deduct it on your taxes, but also because it may end up saving you several hundred dollars. That's what LG and Sharp are saying, at least.
"Last year we saw about 30 percent of price reductions for plasma and a little bit more for LCD. Next year, in 2007, we expect about the same," said a top marketing honcho for LG. The Sharp guys expect about a 20% reduction on LCD TVs.

Sony Flat Panel TV Shortage?
Sony Wega 61" Plasma TV
Yahoo carries a Reuters story about Sony not being able to meet demand of growing Flat Panel TV sales.
Sale numbers in Europe indicate that Sony is closing in on Flat Panel TV market leader Philips. Sony had end of September 15.8%, where as Philips has 18.8%. Apparently Sony did not increase production in their plants fast enough. Seems consumers are really getting hooked on Flat Screens. It is also too tempting. When shopping for a TV, those CRTs or Projection TVs are just huge, compared to a slim Flat Screen TV.
Check out the Sony Flat Panel TV Bstsellers. For other bestselling Flat Screen TVs visit our Flat Panel TV Ranking Site.
