It's finally happened. Ever since the first ultra-tiny pico-projectors started to hit, I've been waiting to see one stuck on a smartphone. Now, according to Akihabara News, Fujitsu is about to make this wonderful dream a reality. At least for people who live in Japan.

The F-04B is like no smartphone you've ever seen. It's modular, and consists of up to three layers that slide together to make a Bluetooth-connected smartphone sandwich. This device has a display unit with a 3.4" touchscreen and a keyboard unit, each with its own Lithium-Ion battery. The full QWERTY keyboard can be removed, allowing you to use the phone as a thin touchscreen device. On its own, the keyboard acts as a microphone, speaker, and gamepad.

The FujiFilm FinePix Real 3D system incorporates the 3D digital camera FinePix Real 3D W1, a 3D picture viewer FinePix Real 3D V1, and also 3D prints.

The FinePix REAL 3D W1 has two Fujinon lenses and two CCD sensors with 10MP resolution. The 3D camera also supports capturing 3D movies. According to FujiFilm it is also fun to use the FinePix REAL 3D W1 in 2D mode, which takes two photos from different angles of the same subject. Read more

Fujifilm 3D Digital Camera Coming Soon Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Time magazine reports that Fujifilm is set to launch the world's first 3D digital camera later this year. The cam will likely be called the FinePix Real 3D system. The camera has dual lenses and a 10MP resolution.

The dual lenses are spaced about as far apart as human eyes. The camera takes the images and the system is capable of presenting them for viewing without needing special glasses, with a caveat. Read more

Fuji says that the line of batteries are made in some of the world's most eco-respectful battery plants.

The plants making the batteries operate under ISO 14001 environmental certification. Fuji representatives say that most all of the resources that are used in the Fuji EnviroMAX manufacturing process are reused and recycled. Read more

The agreement comes after the signing of an agreement on February 17, 2009.

The two companies plan to have the transfer finished by July 1, 2009. The Fujitsu operations will be transferred to a new Toshiba company called Toshiba Storage Device Corporation. The assets and multiple storage companies held by Fujitsu will all become part of the new company. Read more

What you don’t see are liquid cooled notebooks. Fujitsu says that its liquid cooled Lifebook N7010 notebook is now available.

In addition to the liquid cooling, the notebook also has a 4-inch touchscreen integrated into the chassis right above the keyboard. In a bit of turnabout, the machine wasn't available in Japan with the touchscreen. Read more

The new drive has a 320GB storage capacity but still spins at a speedy 7200 RPM. Typically higher capacity notebook drives only spin at 5400 RPM or less.

The drive requires 2.3 watts of power, so the performance it provides won’t hit the battery especially hard. The drive uses the SATA 3.0 Gb/s interface and is manufactured in compliance with RoHS directives. Read more
