PNY XLR8 8800 GTS 320MB Graphics Card Review

PNY has one of the lowest cost NVIDIA 8800 GTS 320MB graphics cards on the market. It carries stock clocks on the core, memory and shaders and therefore gives up performance to the factory overclocked offerings around.

However, you could overclock the PNY card yourself and save some cash. If you are running anything other than an 8800 series graphics card in your computer the PNY 8800 GTS 320MB graphics card is a major upgrade, even from the 7950 GX2 or 7900 GTX that were hot a few months ago. Read more

BFG 8800 GTS OC 320MB Graphics Card Review

Today we are also looking at another NVIDIA 8800 GTS 320MB graphics card from a different card partner than XFX. Up for review here is the BFG 8800 GTS OC 320MB graphics card. BFG doesn’t clock their card as highly as XFX does their XXX edition.

However, performance wise in real world applications the BFG card and the XFX card run neck and neck. BFG has a very nice product on their hands here that will help bring DirectX 10 capabilities to gamers that can’t afford the higher end 8800 GTS 640MB or the 8800 GTX. Read more

W00t! This is a great day for PC gamers looking for the absolute best and fastest graphics cards on the planet. We talked a few days ago about NVIDIA taking the cuffs off overclocking the G80 graphics cards, but boy I didn’t think we would see the cards this quickly.

XFX seems to be poised to be the first to market with their grisly XXX line now extended to cover both the 8800 GTX and the 8800 GTS. A stock 8800 GTX has a 575 MHz core clock and a 1.8GHz memory clock. The flaming hot 8800 GTX XXX will have a core clock of 630 MHz and a whopping 2.0 GHz memory clock. Read more

Since all of the 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS cards launched to day share the same clock speeds manufacturers are trying to set their products apart form the others in different ways. BFG has their 8800 GTX WC card that sports factory water cooling and FOXCONN decided to add some bling to their cards.

The second graphics card that NVIDIA and XFX are launching today is the GeForce 8800 GTS. The 8800 GTS and the 8800 GTX share the same features and what separates the two is performance.

The 8800 GTS gives up quite a bit of performance to the faster 8800 GTX, yet the 8800 GTS is still faster than any other graphics card on the market save the GTX and is even faster than many SLI or CrossFire dual card solutions as well. W00t! DailyTech is running a series on the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX and the GeForce 8800GTS. The new architecture will be DX10, as we already know, and incorporate shader model 4.0 compatibility.

The GTX will be the top of the line graphics card for NVIDIA with reference cards clocked at 575 MHz core and 900 MHz on the 768 MB GDDR3 memory. The GTX cards will have 384-bit memory interface according to DailyTech with a whopping 86 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Read more
