Virgin Galactic unveiled WhiteKnightTwo

Today, Virgin Founder, Sir Richard Branson and SpaceShipOne designer, Burt Rutan, pulled back the hangar doors on the new WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) carrier aircraft that will ferry SpaceShipTwo and thousands of private astronauts, science packages and payloads on the first stage of the Virgin Galactic sub-orbital space experience.

Christened 'EVE' in honor of Sir Richard’s mother, who performed the official naming ceremony.
It is the world’s largest all carbon composite aircraft and many of its component parts have been built using composite materials for the very first time. At 140 ft, the wing spar is the longest single carbon composite aviation component ever manufactured. Read more

Spore Galactic Edition Announced

EA and Maxis have announced a special edition version of Spore with extras called Spore Galactic Edition. The special version of the game will include a Making of Spore DVD, How to Build a Better Being DVD from the National Geographic Channel, The Art of Spore hardback book, Spore poster, and a 100 page galactic handbook.

The regular edition of Spore has a MSRP of $49.99 and the Galactic Edition will retail for $79.99. All versions of Spore for PC, Mac, and Nintendo DS will ship on September 7th in America and September 5th in Europe. Read more

NVIDIA invites Actress Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica to NVISION 08

NVIDIA today announced that Tricia Helfer, the actress widely known for her portrayal of "Number Six" on Battlestar Galactica, the Emmy award-winning television drama series, will speak and appear at NVISION 08.

Tricia Helfer plays the part of a beautiful but ruthless humanoid Cylon Number Six in Battlestar Galactica.
She will discuss her experience on the hit TV show at the NVISION 08, which makes extensive use of computer graphics technology to create stunning special effects. Read more
