Toshiba Gigabeat V PMP Launches in the U.S. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Toshiba announces the release of the Gigabeat MEV30K V series portable video player in the United States.

Toshiba released the similar Gigabeat V30T already in Japan back in May. The Gigabeat V30K does not sport a digital TV Tuner though.

The design of the Gigabeat V is rather boring for my taste. The battery life is interesting. I repeat myself, but the new 4th series Archos PMPs offer more. Read more

Toshiba Gigabeat S 30GB Deals

The CNET reviewer is a big fan of the Portable Media Center (PMC) and raves how intuitive it is. He is though not pleased with the button interface of the Gigabeat S. The 2.4 inch screen also lacks the vividness of the one featured in the Creative Zen Vision:M for instance.

New Toshiba Gigabeat F11, F21 and F41 MP3 Players

Topic:

New Toshiba Gigabeat F11, F21 and F41 MP3 Players Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Toshiba just started to sell the Gigabeat F-series MP3 Players in the US, and already today announces new updated models - F11, F21 and F41.

The new Gigabeat F-Series players are updates of the F10, F20 and F40 that are on the market right now. The new players employ new hard-drive with perpendicular recording making the players lighter and smaller.
The Toshiba Gigabeat F41 is 10g lighter and 3mm slimmer than the Gigabeat F40, giving it a width of 16mm like the F10 or F20. Apparently their is no new 60GB HDD available with perpendicular recording as Toshiba did not announce a F61.
Toshiba also added photo viewing feature and a PC software called ROOM to manage photos to the new gigabeat players.
The F11 model comes in three colors, the F21 in two and the F40 just in one color. All start selling end of May and beginning of June in Japan.

Toshiba Gigabeat F Series Comes in May

Topic:

Toshiba Gigabeat F Series Comes in May Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Two weeks ago we ran a story that the Toshiba Gigabeat F Series mp3 players showed up for pre-order on J&R and Amazon.com.

On both sites are no shipping dates mentioned. I4U Reader Matt P. sent us a tip that Toshiba launched a Gigabeat preview site in the UK. The pretty empty site has one slogan: "Play from May - register your interest."
So it is somewhat save to say that Toshiba will officially launch the Gigabeat F Series Music Players in May outside of Japan.

See our Gigabeat F60 review for technical details.

The 10GB Gigabeat F10 sells for $279.99.

Toshiba Gigabeat F-Series available for Pre-Order

Topic:

Toshiba Gigabeat F-Series available for Pre-Order Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

DAPReview reports that the Toshiba Gigabeat F-Series MP3 Players started to list on J&R for pre-order. I also found the new Toshiba F-Series on Amazon.com, but they did not open pre-order yet.

I reviewed the japanese version of the Toshiba Gigabeat F60 (60GB). Back then the japanese music management software did not run on an english OS. Toshiba is wrapping music files on transfer with some meta-data. Which is a bit problematic, when users want to just upload a mp3 file without the software. I wonder if they changed that in the US version. Read more in the Gigabeat F60 review.

The 10GB Gigabeat F10 sells for $279.99.
