Tweaktown published a review of the ASUS GeForce ENGTX285 TOP Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "One thing I really can't stress enough about the TOP line-up of graphics cards from ASUS is that they are more than just a few extra MHz on the core and memory. Past experience has always shown that the clocks offered by a card carrying this marking are clearly above the norm.

Tweaktown published a review of the Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic 1GB Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "When the HD 4870 launched a few months back, it did come as a bit of a surprise that we couldn’t see any 1GB models on offer. Really, in this day and age it does seem weird to have such a high-end card carry only 512MB of memory.

JPR Reports Q2 2008 Graphics Card Market
According to Jon Peddie Research, the overall GPU market dropped 0.5% from Q1 2008. While a drop may sound like a bad thing JPR says that Q2 is generally down for the computer industry with summer vacations and back to school.
The 0.5% drop from Q1 2008 to Q2 2008 is the smallest drop since 2001. JPR says that shipments for the quarter were 94.4 million units -- an increase of 16% over the same quarter in 2007. Intel held the top spot for overall graphics market with 47.3% market share. NVIDIA has 31.4% of the market and AMD held 18.1% of the market. Read more

NVIDIA Launches New Graphics Cards
Yesterday I mentioned that NVIDIA had launched new notebook GPUs. NVIDIA also officially announced three new desktop graphics cards -- The 9800 GTX+, 9800 GT, and 9500 GT. The cards cover several different price points with the 9500 GT coming in at under $100.
All three of the GPUs support PhysX processing and CUDA processing; the new cards will also support SLI and 3D stereoscopic technology. I saw NVIDIA's 3D drivers in action at CEs this year and it was fantastic. Read more

MSI N9600GT Hybrid Freezer Graphics Card Review
Tweaktown published a review of the MSI N9600GT Hybrid Freezer Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "It’s always nice to see companies mix it up with new coolers, and the Hybrid Freezer seems to have some pretty cool technology behind it. It makes sense that they’re installing it on the popular 9600GT series of card, and in this case MSI has decided to install it on a card carrying with it 1GB of GDDR3 memory for added appeal.

AMD announces GDDR5 ATI Radeon Graphics Cards
Today AMD announced the first commercial implementation of GDDR5 (Graphics Double Data Rate, version 5) memory in its forthcoming next generation of ATI Radeon graphics cards.
The GPU performance in today's graphics cards is limited by the rate at which data can be moved on and off the graphics chip, which in turn is limited by the memory interface width and die size.
The higher data rates supported by GDDR5 is up to 5x that of GDDR3 and 4x that of GDDR4.

Tweaktown publishes a review of the MSI GeForce 9600GT 1GB OC Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "We saw MSI mix it up just the other week with the 9600GT by overclocking it and going down the aftermarket cooler route. Tweaktown published a review of the GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GX2 Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "The latest 9800 GX2 incarnation to make its way into the labs comes from GIGABYTE and carries with it all the standard goodies that we expect out of the 9800 GX2. The latest 9 series of NVIDIA cards have impressed us, but like we’ve said all along they haven’t offered the revolutionary jump that we thought the 9 series would offer.

DIAMOND Radeon HD 3650 1GB Graphics Card Review
Tweaktown published a review of the DIAMOND Radeon HD 3650 1GB Graphics Card.
Quote from the review: "What’s different about the Diamond HD 3650 from Diamond is that it carries with it a massive 1GB of memory. We’re not really big on huge amounts of memory added to a mid-range card, but we’ll have to see if Diamond is able to do anything with the HD 3650 here today that impresses us.

ATI FireGL V8600 1GB Workstation Graphics Card Review
Hothardware tested the ATI FireGL V8600 1GB Workstation Graphics Card and published a review.
Quote from the review: "As many of you know, ATI has been particularly aggressive with their FireGL workstation graphics card lineup over the past six months. While their flagship R600-architecture was the basis for the solid (but ultimately underwhelming) Radeon HD2900XT for the gaming market, our tests have shown that this particular GPU architecture is much more competitive in the workstation market. While the R600 may not be the best choice for a high-end gaming rig, it is indeed a powerful chip for high-end OpenGL work, and as such, has led to a revival of sorts for ATI’s FireGL lineup.

Quote from the review: "We take a look at NVIDIA’s latest entrant into the mid-range workstation graphics card market, the QuadroFX 3700. This card has an MSRP of about $1,700, which puts it smack-dab in between the price tags of NVIDIA's mid-range and ultra-high-end products, although street prices for the QuadroFX 3700 are much lower than its MSRP. This card is based on NVIDIA’s popular G92 graphics processor, which has been prominently featured in their GeForce 8800 GT / GTS lineup at a very competitive price point.
