Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Now Available
Fans of Guitar Hero and the band Aerosmith can now buy Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in stores across the country. The game only features tracks from Aerosmith’s massive library of hits. Some of the tracks were re-mastered by Aerosmith just for the game.
One of the guest appearances in the game is from Darryl “DMC” McDaniels from rap group Run DMC. Aerosmith and Run DMC teamed up for a remake of “Walk this Way” in the 1980’s, helping to rebuild Aerosmith’s popularity when rap was just starting to take off. Read more

Aerosmith is Set to Launch Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in Times Square Friday
Activision announced that Aerosmith will be on hand to launch the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith video game this Friday in Times Square in NYC. All members of the band will be on hand for the unveil and fans are invited.
A press conference will be held and after the launch in Times Square the Hard Rock Café will be turned into a Best Buy home theater/video game lounge. In the lounge gamers will be the first to play the new game before it goes on sale on June 29th. Read more

Girl Gamers Get Guitar Controllers from Aly & AJ
Despite the fact that I have never heard of Aly & AJ it seems they are a popular pop group with tweens. The group and PDP, a maker of video game controllers for all consoles, have teamed up to offer girl gamers a pair of guitar controllers.
The guitar controllers are for use with Guitar Hero and will be available starting in September. At this time there isn’t even a picture of the controllers, but they are said to be boldly colored and have vibrant designs. Each of the guitars is wireless and will retail for $69.99. Read more

Coldplay to Debut New Single on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
The multi-platinum rock band Coldplay is releasing a new single as part of a downloadable song pack for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The song pack will include “Violet Hill” from the Viva la Vida album set for release on June 17th.
The pack also includes the hit tune “Yellow” and the track “God Put a Smile Upon Your Face”. The track pack will be available on June 19th on the Xbox via the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Store for PS3. Read more

Nintendo DS Guitar Hero: On Tour Bundle Gets Official
We talked about the Guitar Hero Nintendo DS bundle when it was leaked a while back. Today Nintendo is officially announcing the Guitar Hero: On tour bundle for Nintendo DS. The DS itself will sport a silver/black color with the Guitar Hero logo on it.
The game will be played with a new guitar hero Guitar Grip that taps into the abilities of the Nintendo DS hardware. The bundle will be available on June 22nd at retailers across America. The bundle also uses a custom guitar pick stylus. Read more

Guitar Hero Nintendo DS Bundle leaked
In May Nintendo announced Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS. The Guitar accessory and game for the DS will start shipping in June.
1Up discovers a Guitar Hero hardware bundle and special edition Nintendo DS on the ToysRUs site. The page has since been removed, but the package design is out in the wild.

Takara Tomy Air Guitar Pro from Japan
Takara Tomy introduced the fun Air Guitar Pro in Japan last year. In the wake of Guitar Hero: On Tour I stumbled over them again and also found a must see Japanese video review of these Air Guitar gadgets.
This toy consists of the upper neck of a guitar featuring an infrared sensor that senses your air guitar moves. The guitar had has seven buttons on the front to press to hold down chords and also buttons on the side to identify the chords as major, minor, augmented, or diminished.

British Rockers Muse Head To Guitar Hero III
Activision announced today that the trio of British rockers known as Muse is bringing some of their most famous tracks to Guitar Hero III as downloadable content. Muse hits that will be available include “Exo-Politics” and “Supermassive Black Hole.”
These tracks come from the bands Black Holes and Revelations album. The tune “Stockholm Syndrome” is also being made available from the Absolution album. The tracks will be available for the PS3 and Xbox on May 8th. Read more

Show Me How To Play (SMHTP) is a music and tutorial site that teaches you how to play your favorite songs on real instruments. Playing Guitar Hero is actually a waste of time, as you actually do not learn how to play a real Gibson.

Guiness World Record for Guitar Hero III Song Score
To mark the launch of the first Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008 book the best players of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock gathered in New York City to break some records.
Chris Chike, age 16 from Rochester, Minnesota, walked away with a new Guinness World Record for the "Highest Score for a Single Song on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" 840,647 points (a 97% completion on Expert Level) for the song "Through the Fire and Flames" by DragonForce.

Aerosmith gets its Own Guitar Hero Game
Fans of the guitar Hero franchise will be thrilled to hear that Aerosmith, the iconic rock band, has its very own Guitar Hero game coming. The new title will be called Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and marks the first music-based game to focus on one band.
The game takes players from the bands first gig to the massive stadiums they play today as rock legends. To celebrate the game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock owners will be able to download Aerosmith’s “Dream On”. Basic Fun launched a new Guitar Hero Carabiner portable game at the Toy fair this week. The game is called a playable and portable version of the original smash hit Guitar Hero.
The carabiner is small measuring in at 7 ¾-inches x 3-inches and only costs $14.99. The small portable game has all electronics needed inside including a LCD screen in the body of the little guitar game. Read more

Guitar Hero goes Mobile
One of the hottest games this holiday season is the new Guitar Hero III. Verizon Wireless announced today that a new exclusive mobile version of Guitar Hero III is available for download for Verizon Wireless customers.
The new game will let fans of the Guitar Hero franchise get their shred on anywhere, anytime. The mobile game offers 15 tracks from the console game series including “Suck my Kiss” and “Rock You Like a Hurricane”. Read more

EA Acknowledges Defect in Some Rock Band Guitars
Copies of the Rock Band game have been flying off store shelves and the game is one of the hottest titles for the holiday season. Some early buyers of the Rock Band bundle with the guitar, mic and drum controllers are reporting problems with the strum bar on the guitar.
EA has acknowledged that some of the first guitars shipped with the game had an issue with the strum bar. While subsequent guitar production lines were repaired, some defective units are still in play. Read more

Gibson Robot Guitar
Gibson announced a new guitar that uses robotic technology to prevent tuning problems for guitarists. The Gibson Robot Guitar automatically tunes itself to standard A440 tuning. The guitar also provides access to six commonly used altered tuning presets at the touch of a button.
The robot guitar has five components including a control knob that serves as the volume knob and enables tuning with a push or pull. Each tuner uses a servo motor and adjusts the pitch of the strings with a tune-control bridge. Read more

Compilations of Music from Guitar Hero III Available on iTunes
If you are a big fan of the Guitar Hero video game franchise you probably like the music that is used in the games. iTunes and Activision announced today that compilations of music from the upcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock are now available on iTunes.
Nearly every song in the upcoming game is available on iTunes including “Surrender”, “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Carry on Wayward Son”. "Guitar Hero fans have been clamoring for increased accessibility to their favorite songs from the set lists," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing for Activision/RedOctane(R). "Where there's music, there's Guitar Hero, and with iTunes, we are able to provide fans with a central location for downloading their favorite rock anthems." Read more

GuitarFreaks and Drummania versus Guitar Hero
Think Gaming looks at the GuitarFreaks and Drummania from Konami, which pioneered music simulation games already seven years ago in Japan. In the U.S. we only know Guitar Hero.

Tomy releases Air Guitar playing i-Sobot Robot Details
Japanese toy maker Tomy announces details about their world's smallest humanoid robot i-Sobot. Even the Guinness book of records recognizes i-Sobot as the world's smallest humanoid robot in mass production.
Tomy announced the tiny i-Sobot toy robot in January. Today the company revealed pricing and shipping dates.
Tomy will start shipping i-Sobot in Japan on October 25th for 29,800 Yen (~$245).
