The controllers will come from PDP and actual product shots are now available.

The guitar controllers are suitably girly with bright pink colors and heart shapes. Girls looking to get into music games like Guitar Hero can now have their own feminine controllers. Both guitars are wireless and are said to be available in mid-October for $69.99 each. Read more

PS3 Guitar Hero Guitars and Drums work with Rock Band 2 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Sony announced today that they have been working closely with Neversoft and Activision, Harmonix and Konami to ensure that PS3 guitars and drum sets will all feature a basic level of gameplay compatibility.
That means you can use a Guitar Hero Guitar or Drum with Rock Band 2 software and vice versa.
The music hardware of Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero are also compatible with Rock Revolution and vice versa.

Sony is still working to ensure compatibility between the Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles currently available. Read more

The recording industry knows how hot the games are right now for sure.

Activision announced that it and Logitech are teaming up for premium instruments for Guitar Hero World Tour. The game is set to ship this fall for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and PS3 consoles. Logitech is mum on exactly what instruments it will be developing, but it's safe to say guitars, mics and drum kits are on the list. Read more

The problem is that the plastic guitars that ship with the games tend to not hold up well. My Rock Band Guitar stopped working correctly a few months after I bought the game.

Peak Products has one seriously sweet guitar controller for fans of Guitar games called the Starpex. The controller is the first full size wood guitar controller for both the PS2 and the PS3. The game only features tracks from Aerosmith’s massive library of hits. Some of the tracks were re-mastered by Aerosmith just for the game.

One of the guest appearances in the game is from Darryl “DMC” McDaniels from rap group Run DMC. Aerosmith and Run DMC teamed up for a remake of “Walk this Way” in the 1980’s, helping to rebuild Aerosmith’s popularity when rap was just starting to take off. Read more
