Gundam SEED Destiny HARO - A Look at a Weird Japanese Toy
Hong Kong based Gadget Store FancyLogic sent us the most weird Japanese Toy I got my hands on so far - it is called HARO.
HARO is a character of the Anime series Gundam SEED Destiny. They are some kind of mechanical pets. There are
different HARO pets in the series. So far so good. Anime merchandise maker BanPresto thought it is fun to make a plastic sphere that eats two AA batteries that is supposed to be voice activated. From my experience it reacts to any sound and starts rolling around the floor and makes weird noises. It is somewhat fun the first time. Watch this short video to see HARO in action.
The long-time fun factor of this Japanese Toy is highly questionable.

Gundam Land Walker Robot
Japanese Masaaki Nagumo builds a 3.4m high walking robot based on the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series.
The Land Walker robot is really working and is currently made to order for 36 million yen (~330,000USD). The robot weighs 1 ton and can walk forward, backward and sideways. It shoots sponge bullets from its mounted guns.

Cute Bandai Gundam Haro Robot PC Case
Bandai announces PC case in the shape of a Anime character.
The Haro PC case measures 40cm in diameter and weighs 5kg. It can open and close the ears with a remote. It can move and talk like the anime character. The size of a PC to put into the Haro is max: 172×180x260mm.
Orders are taken now in Japan. Shipment is starting in mid October. Only 1000 pieces will be made of the Real Size Haro PC case. The price is a bit steep with 99,800yen (~900USD).

Mobile Suit Gundam Anime Portable DVD Player
Japanese Bandai Visual announces a Portable DVD Player in bright red themed after the anime character Char Aznable from the Mobile Suit Gundam Anime Series.
The casing of the portable DVD player (BCHW-0001) is red and has wording from the Anime Series on it. The Player comes with bag and other accessories. The specifications are average and not especially interesting. Full Story and more photos on japanese site Watch Impress.
