Hulu is a wonderful website that offers streaming copies of hundreds of television shows, movies, documentaries, and short films. In very little time it has become one of the most popular destinations on the Internet. After all, who doesn't love having access to everything worth watching, 100% free of charge? Even dedicated media pirates were willing to forgo torrenting for the greater ease of just sitting through one or two short commercials an episode.

Now it looks like the golden age of Hulu might be coming to an end. Hulu's growth has started to stall, and NewsCorp is looking at ways to drive up profits before the free content giant collapses under its own weight.

Disney buys 30% of Hulu and puts ABC TV Shows on Hulu Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Videos service Hulu continues to build up its strength. Hulu is already in the top 3 video services, now the WSJ reports that Disney buys a 30% stake in Hulu.
Hulu is a joint venture of NBC and News Corp. Now Disney joins the two and will invest in similar fashion as NBC and News Corp. Read more

Hulu Breaks Into Top 3 Video Properties Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review ComScore has announced its latest rankings of online video sites and Hulu has broken into the top three for the first time ever as of March. ComScore says that US internet users viewed a total of 14.5 billion videos during the month of March, an 11% increase from February.

Google video sites including YouTube held the top spot for the month with 41% of the total US video market. YouTube alone accounted for 99% of all 5.9 billion videos watched on Google properties. Fox Interactive Media was second with 437 million videos watched and Hulu had 380 million videos watched. Read more

A dedicated Hulu app is coming to the iPhone, according to the folks at Silicon Ally Insider. The report sites a “plugged-in industry executive,” claiming the Web video app would be available within months and will work over both Wi-Fi and the 3G network.

There are a few potential problems with any possible iPhone Hulu app. First, AT&T may be concerned with the streaming video straining their data network. Rumors swirled earlier that AT&T was pressuring Apple to deny approval for SlingPlayer, a television streaming application, citing network concerns as the reason. Also, Hulu currently competes with iTunes, offering ad supported television shows and movies similar to iTunes’ pay-per-download model.

Hulu Viewers increased 42% in Feb Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review I am a big fan of Hulu, it's a great place to watch some of my favorite shows that are no longer on the air and catch up on current TV shows if I miss an episode. I am not alone, Hulu is one of the most popular destinations online for video.

According to ComScore Hulu is getting even more popular and in February alone viewers on the site jumped a massive 42%. ComScore says that US internet users viewed 13.1 billion online videos during the month. Read more

Right now only users in the United States will be able to watch the video streams. I hope HULU knows about the huge international potential of the service. TV users in Europe are sick of having to wait for U.S. shows to be featured on their local TV channels. Read more
