The eneloop bike has been designed to be the industry’s first to conform to the newest standards, offering a “Power-up Mode” assist ratio of up to 1:2 making riding the bicycle more comfortable, a new “loop charge function” that generates electricity and charges the battery while in use, and a two-wheel drive system provides a safer, more stable ride. AFS Trinity Pulls Hybrid SUV from LA Auto Show

AFS Trinity Power Corporation announced that it has pulled its 150 MPG XH 150 electric hybrid SUV from the LA Auto Show. The company says that it will display its vehicle at an alternate location during the show. According to AFS, the decision to leave the show was due to the show trying to muzzle it on claims of the 150 MPG economy offered by its XH150 prototype.

The vehicle was displayed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit using graphics touting its claimed 150 MPG capabilities. According to AFS, the LA Auto Show refused to allow it to use the same graphics for advertising and only offered basement exhibition space for the car. The LA Auto Show says that manufacturers are only allowed to claim EPA verified fuel economy numbers. Read more

NVIDIA Powers New Hybrid Graphics Notebooks form Sony, Fujitsu, Siemens, and Ben

NVIDIA has announced that notebook makers Sony, Fujitsu, Siemens, and BenQ have new notebooks that utilize NVIDIA's Hybrid graphics. The notebooks are able to switch from discrete graphics cards to integrated graphics as power demands increase to save battery life.

NVIDIA says that all GeForce 9M Series GPUs support the feature. New notebooks with Hybrid graphics include the Sony VAIO Z series with discrete 9300M GS GPUs, Fujitsu Amilo XI 3650 with 9600M GT GPUs, and the BenQ Joybook S42 ultra-light laptop with 9600M GT GPUs. Read more

Hitachi Whips out Hybrid Blu-Ray Camcorder

Hitachi announced its latest Blu-Ray camcorder recently called the GZ-BD10HA. The Blu-Ray disc hybrid camcorder can record onto the next generation format HD Blu-Ray disc. The camera uses a newly developed seven megapixel CMOS image sensor to capture rich and vibrant video in full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. The camcorder can record up to four hours and 20 minutes full HD video or eight hours and 40 minutes of video at 1440 x 1080 resolution on a built-in 30 GB HDD.

In addition to the 30 GB HDD, the camera also features an SDHC card slot for added memory capacity for storing video and still shots. The camcorder has a dubbing function that allows the HD video to be transferred -- with the push of a button -- from either the HDD or the SDHC card to the camcorders internal Blu-Ray drive without the need of a computer. Dell Announces Inspiron 518 and Studio Hybrid PC

Dell is gearing up for back to school with the announcement of a pair of new computers that have interesting features. The Inspiron 518 looks cool with a glossy black case with chrome trim. The system has a media tray on top with a pair of USB ports for docking MP3 players. The starting price for the 518 is only $349.

Dell also introduced a new Inspiron 13 Laptop aimed at shoppers looking for a small, light, and efficient notebook. The 13 Laptop is glossy pacific blue with black trim and has a 13-inch display with capacitive touch media buttons. Other features include an 8-in-1 media card reader, slot load DVD drive and optional wireless networking, webcam, and Bluetooth. AVerMedia Launches AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX USB Tuner

Chinese battery maker shows advanced plug-in hybrid car at the Detroit Auto Show 2008.

BYD plans to start selling the F6DM plug-in hybrid sedan for about $25k in China this year.
The BYD F6DM drive train is a combination of a 1l four cylinder gasoline engine with 68hp and a 100hp electric motor. The range on batteries is apparently 62miles in hybrid mode its 205miles. Read more
