New Insignia NS-BRDVD3 And NS-WBRDVD Blu-ray Player Stream Netflix Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Best Buy and Netflix announced this week that the new Insignia Advanced Series Blu-ray Player NS-WBRDVD and the Insignia Connected Blu-ray Player NS-BRDVD3 (photo) are streaming Netflix movie rentals.
Both new Insignia Blu-ray players are Internet ready, giving Netflix members on an unlimited plan access to a growing library to watch instantly on their TV. The Insignia Advanced Series model uses built-in Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet while the Insignia Connected player uses an Ethernet connection.

Best Buy Qualifies All Insignia LCD TVs for Energy Star 3.0 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Best Buy has announced that it has qualified its complete line of Insignia LCD TVs for the Energy Star 3.0 specification. All sets manufactured after November 1, 2008 will meet the requirements for the specification. Six of the TVs exceed the new specification by 15% or more.

Best Buy says that the certification of its TVs is a response to customers wanting more energy efficient electronic devices. Best Buy says that it worked with its TV manufacturers to make the sets 30% more efficient than competing products. All Insignia TVs available at Best Buy stores across the US will be Energy Star 3.0 rated by December 31, 2008. Read more

Best Buy announced that it now has its store brand Insignia Digital convertor Boxes available for the analog to digital transition in 2009. The Insignia convertor box is coupon eligible and will go on sale on February 17, 2008.

Best Buy is launching a dedicated hotline that consumers can call to ask questions about the transition and speak with home theater specialists for help with the conversion. Best Buy also says it has trained staff across the country to be able to assist customers with the digital transition. Read more
