JVC Gets Ready to Launch 120Hz HDTV Sets
I talked a bit about a demo I saw at CES from Olevia that showed the difference in picture quality you get from a LCD TV with a 120Hz refresh rate compared to a set with the standard 60Hz rate. The visual difference was quite impressive with the 120Hz set looking much clearer and more life like.
JVC is poised to beat Olevia to market with sets based on the 120Hz tech and have announced three new TVs that will utilize the higher refresh rate allowing a new image on screen every 8.3ms, which is twice as fast as standard sets. The improved refresh rate is achieved via interpolation. The 32” LT-32L95, 37” LT-37LC95 and 42” LT42LC95 all share 120Hz refresh, 1366 x 768 resolution, 500 cd/m2 brightness and built in digital tuners. Read more

JVC Everio GZ-HD7 Full HD Camcorder Announced at CES 2007
JVC announces at the CES 2007 the first consumer full High-Definition 3-CCD camcorder capable of shooting and recording full HD images (1920 x 1080i).
The JVC GZ-HD7 uses three 1/5-inch 16:9 progressive scan CCDs designed for HD use in a diagonally offset pixel configuration to generate the high resolution image for recording in full HD. The Red and Blue imaging CCDs are shifted a half-pixel both horizontally and vertically relative to the Green imaging CCD.
Because the pixel-shift system uses progressive scan CCDs, signals are processed first as 1920 x 1080p progressive signals, then converted to 1920 x 1080i interlace signals for recording.
JVC also is the first to use the Broadcast HD Video Camera Fujinon Lens in a Consumer Camcorder.

JVC Camcorder with 34x Zoom
If you are tired of your camcorder craping out in the zoom department at your child’s school shows you need this JVC camera. This thing sports a massive 34x optical zoom lens, none of that digital zoom crap here.
The scary part is that I can’t hold my camera still enough at 12x zoom to get a decent picture, so if you plan on using the zoom you better have a tripod with you. The camera also sports a 2.7” LCD and uses MiniDV tapes to record the video. Still shots can be made, but your camera phone will do a better job of shooting stills. Read more
