If you have a giant chunk of disposable income and a big living room, you too might be a good candidate for the joys of projector ownership.

Super Thin JVC LCD TV Debuts

Topic:

Super Thin JVC LCD TV Debuts Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review JVC has unveiled a super thin LCD TV that has about the same profile as a much more expensive OLED TV. The set is only 6.4mm thick at the thinnest point. The catch is that the sides of the set are really thin, but all the actual hardware to make the set work is in a much thicker section of the TV on the lower half.

That sort of makes the thin profile at points moot. Still, if you want that sexy OLED look but don’t want to spend that much the JVC set might be a good alternative. The set has two HDMI ports, RGB, component, composite and other connectivity options. Two HDMI ports is woefully lacking for today's standards. Read more

JVC's 42'' Monitor Hits Stores Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Back in January we got our first info on JVC's new, massive 42 inch HDTV monitor, the LT-42WX70. Now it's out in stores and, if you can stomach the $2,399.95 price tag, it looks like pretty much the best monitor out on the market.

The Xiview LT-42WX7 is a 120Hz, 1080p, ultra-thin high-def monitor that appears to be aimed at graphic design/digital imaging artists who need a monitor capable of showing off the depth of color and detail that they need for their work. Since the LT-42WX70 has 52 picture-quality adjustment options, users should be able to get things to look exactly the way they want them to. JVC promises you'll be able to edit images source-by-source to the "exact colors and tones" you're looking for.

JVC Everio G GZ-MG670 HDD Review

Topic:

JVC Everio G GZ-MG670 HDD Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Our review partner Digital Trends published a review of the JVC Everio G GZ-MG670 hard-drive camcorder.
Quote from the review: "The first of the new 2009 camcorders are finally hitting stores. Unlike the onslaught of low-priced (sub $200) video capture devices like the entry-level Flip Mino, models such as the GZ-MG670 have critical things like zoom lenses, better picture quality, bigger LCD screens and tons of others creature comforts that make them at least twice as expensive - but still much better deals in our view. Take the just released MG670 for example: It has a 35x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD and 80GB storage (19 hours at best 720 x 480 pixel quality). Compare this to a Flip Mino with no zoom, a poor 1.5-inch screen and 640 x 480 clip quality. Basically, there is no comparison. However, the Flip and its brethren are extremely compact, and made for video sharing on YouTube. Both are features millions want and use every day. Read more

JVC Everio GZ-HD40 120GB Camcorder Review

Topic:

JVC Everio GZ-HD40 120GB Camcorder Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Our review partner Digital Trends tested the JVC Everio GZ-HD40 digital camcorder and published a review.
Quote from the review: "The inexorable march away from tapes and discs has picked up steam in Camcorder Land-and this trend will continue until MiniDV and DVD home video makers take their place on the obsolete shelf next to Walkman cassette music players and analog televisions.
This won't happen overnight, but it's happening right in front of our eyes as flash-based and hard disk drive camcorders win-over the public and take share from competing formats. Basically, it's the iPod Phenomenon dramatically reshaping the camcorder biz.
According to industry execs, tape and DVD cam sales are dropping while the new-and definitely cooler-formats take over. Almost all of the recent releases were memory card, flash or HDD based. And many of them are high-definition. I'm a big fan of high-def hard drive camcorders because their storage capabilities can't be beat. It's great not worrying if you have enough blank tape or DVDs for saving memories. And the small size and weight of flash-based models is also a winner. Read more
