Asus Delays EEE Keyboard 'Till 2010, 10-inch Tablet PC Coming
The Asus Eee Keyboard, previously confirmed for an October 2009 release, won't be out until 2010. Savvy gadget nerds probably realized this several days ago, when the netbook-inside-a-keyboard didn't launch within the one month window given. Now, Digitimes gives us the reason why. Apparently the original version of the Eee Keyboard didn't pass wireless regulation testing.
That's a huge bummer for every gadget nerd who wanted one of the sweet and totally cyberpunk keyboards, but this bad news comes with a bit of good. Asus has restated that the Eee Keyboard will be coming to the US and Europe. The company will be updating the machine in order to comply with regulations, and they've also made the 5” touchscreen interface capacitive. The device's price point will stay at around $500 USD.

Pantech Reveal: Dual Keyboards Are Cool
Feature phones are rarely worth much notice, especially in a season filled with sexy new smartphone releases. That said, the Pantech Reveal has a really cool design that makes it worth talking about. In their quest to create a perfect social feature phone, Pantech has stumbled upon a dual keyboard design that is actually sort of awesome. Basically, a BlackBerry-style QWERTY keyboard slides out from under the numpad, and both remain active.
Aside from the dual-keyboards, there's not much special about the Reveal. It does pack 3G capability, AT&T Navigator, and access to AT&T's new HTML mobile browser. As far as feature phones go, the Reveal is pretty high-end. It looks like a solid buy for the teenage (or younger) cell phone user in your life. That is, assuming they're worth $79.99 (after a $50 mail in rebate) to you.

VidaBox Wireless HTPC Keyboard with Laser Trackball Review
A good wireless keyboard is essential for a Home Theater PC. Tweaktown tested the VidaBox Premium Wireless Keyboard with Laser Trackball and published this review.
Quote from the review: "Today on the slab we have a treat from a HTPC and Media Centre specialist company called VidaBox. Quite often is the case that you have spent a large sum on that shiny new HTPC sitting under your TV or in your HI-FI rack, but neglect it as more than a music and movie playback means because you lack that bridge between your grubby mits and the desktop.

iTwinge iPhone Keyboard Is For Touchscreen Haters
I for my part have no issues typing on the iPhone. I actually find it very comfortable. If you love the iPhone, but hate to type on the touchscreen you could try the iTwinge. A simple, but kind of interesting accessory for the iPhone that gives you the feel and tactile feedback of a real keyboard.
The iTwinge slides over your iPhone and covers the keyboard area in portrait mode. This alone makes it a no go for me as I use the landscape keyboard when available.

Asus Eee Keyboard: Confirmed October Release
There are some moments in life where screaming 'YES!' at the top of your lungs just isn't good enough. Well now we finally have an actual, real-life, no foolin' confirmed release month. According to Gizmodo, the Eee Keyboard will launch October.
Hell. Yes. Just so you understand why this is exciting, the Eee Keyboard is basically a full-sized keyboard with a 5" touchscreen, a 1.6 GHz Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM, and a 16 GB or 32 GB SSD. Snow Leopard's Keyboard: Sign of the iTablet?
The Apple iTablet is just about the hottest device that may not actually exist. While most of the tech world seems convinced that a 10" touchscreen tablet is on the way from Cupertino, we still have no hard proof of it. That's why bloggers are scrambling desperately to find any and all information that makes the iTablet seem more plausible, or gives us a better idea of its (possible) capabilities.
AppleInsider reports that some folks have taken Snow Leopard's revamped on-screen keyboard as proof positive that the new OS will play a big role in the iTablet. This new soft keyboard is larger than the one in Leopard, and it is easier to access as well. Snow Leopard's keyboard can also expand to fit the entire width of the screen. To some bloggers, that equals a smoking gun.

EEE Keyboard Out in October?
The tech world has been terribly excited about the new Asus Eee Keyboard PC since the first pictures of it started to leak out several months back. Since then, we've had delay after delay, primarily due to the fact that Asus isn't quite sure how to market this peculiar machine. The Eee Keyboard is a full-sized keyboard with a 5” touchscreen where the numpad would normally be. Inside the keyboard is an Atom 270 processor and a 32 GB SSD.
If you're anything like me, the Eee Keyboard sounds like pretty much the best thing ever. It has HDMI-out, which means you'll be able to store video on this thing, and transfer it over to whatever TV you happen to be in front of at the time without much hassle. I could see this keyboard replacing a lot of media boxes in the near future. And I do mean near; Digitimes reports that this hot little gadget “should” be ready as early as October.

Adesso Releases New Wireless SlimTouch Keyboard
Adesso has announced the availability of a new slim wireless keyboard called the WKB-4000UB. The keyboard looks like a netbook that has had the screen ripped off to me. The roughly square wireless keyboard sports a track pad so no mouse is needed.
Wireless connectivity for the keyboard is via 2.4GHz technology. I mentioned the track pad integrated into the keyboard, it also sports a pair of mouse buttons. The keyboard also has 12 function keys. Read more

Palm Pre Gets 3rd Party Keyboard
Even folks like myself who swear by sliding QWERTY keyboards want the option of having an on-screen keyboard. It comes in handy for those times when you don't have both hands free to type. That's why one was added to the T-Mobile G1, and also why Pre users have been complaining at Palm to give the Pre one during its next update. Unfortunately, Palm doesn't appear to be listening.
The good news is, someone was. According to Pre Central a developer named WebShell has put together a native, onscreen keyboard for the Pre. This new hack apparently works in portrait and landscape mode. It's still in pre-alpha phase at the moment, so only developers and people willing to deal with some extra hassle should bother downloading it at this point. That said, you'll want to keep an eye on this development for when they get a final version out.

Hacking Passwords typed on Keyboards on Power Outlets and with Laser Beams

Pre Owners Want Onscreen Keyboards
Here's some news that's got to have Apple feeling pretty smug. Palm Pre owners have started to complain about the lack of “soft” on-screen keyboards for their smartphones. A new study by Strategy Analytics, released this week, shows that “many users” apparently want to have an on-screen keyboard. The Pre already has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, which was supposed to be one of the big reasons to entice users to it over an iPhone.
This doesn't mean that consumers don't like having a sliding keyboard. It just means that prefer the convenience of having both available to them. Even consumers who picked the Pre for the sliding keyboard stated that they would prefer to have the option of using either. The easy solution to Palm would be to simply add-in an onscreen keyboard (much like was done for the G1).

Inside The Asus EEE Keyboard
Some lucky jerks over in France managed to get their hands on one of the upcoming Asus Eee Keyboards. They played around with it and took a video of everything. Then they took it apart and looked inside.
The video just further confirms my believe that the Eee Keyboard is one seriously badass piece of gadgetry. It looks like something out of a Neal Stephenson novel and it comes with a gorgeous 5” touchscreen. It packs 32 GB of storage space, an Atom 270 Processor, and 1GB of RAM. To keep things cool, the keyboard has a 4cm fan which, according to the boys at Blogeee.net, is quite quiet.
