Sony XBR12 OLED TV Will Be 21'', Debute At CES 2010
Don't lie; if you had thousands of dollars of expendable income to burn through, you'd buy one. OLED TVs are too hot for any geek to not want, and too expensive for most of us to even consider. While we don't have too long to wait before OLED becomes cheaper than LCD, it's still a few years off. This year at CES 2010 we'll get a chance to see a major step forward in this technology.

LG: 32" OLED TV in 2010, 15" OLED TV in December
OLED screens are one of the coolest technologies in development. We're just now reaching the point where they're starting to be feasible for smaller screens on media players and smartphones. A few monitors, including a 15" one from LG, have been released, but the cost of those is a little panic-inducing. The high expense of the technology lead us to believe that LG would be holding off from releasing any larger OLED products for a while.
According to techradar though, that simply isn't true. At the IFA conference today an LG spokesman confirmed that a 32" OLED TV would debut in 2010. Apparently the electronics manufacturer is very close to putting their 32" TV into production. It will go on sale first in Europe.

Panasonic to make Super-Thin OLED TVs with new Partner
Panasonic partners with Sumitomo Chemical to develop super-thin OLED TV panels.
According to Nikkei News, Panasonic and Sumitomo aim to develop 40 inch OLED TVs by 2010.
OLED TV development is a drag apparently. The 11-inch Sony OLED TV XEL-1 is still the only commercially available OLED TV and it is just too small and too expensive to be taken seriously. Sony is rumored to unveil a 21 or 27 inch OLED TV XEL-2 at the IFA 2009.

CES 2009: Samsung touts new low impact Wall Mounting for their ultra-thin LED TV
As reported Samsung announced a new 6.5mm thin LED TV panel for the CES 2009. Today the company also reveals the fitting wall mounting system for these new generation of ultra-thin LED backlit LCD HDTVs which really start to look like a normal picture frames when hung on a wall.
Samsung promises to reduce wall damage considerably with the new mounting system. As Plasma and LCD TVs are very heavy in sizes above 40 inches the wall mounting brackets require big screws. Removing a wall mount usually requires some serious renovating of the wall.

CES 2009: Samsung to show maybe large OLED TV [Update]
The CES 2009 will be kicking off in a couple of weeks and of course the first promises from companies already surface with what cool electronics they will try to dazzle us.
In an interview on WhatHiFi (via OLED-Info) Samsung's HS Kim, Vice President in charge of Flat Panel Development said that Samsung might show a larger OLED TV at the CES 2009 (previously the interview said 50 inch, but the statement was updated).
Unless Samsung plans to sell the 50 inch OLED TV in 2009, they actually can leave that panel in their Korean headquarters. In 2005 Samsung already showed a 40 inch OLED TV. Kim correctly sees that the problem is not in the size of OLED they can make, but the price. He said that the price of the 50 inch OLED TV would be 10x that of current models.

We have been at the Sony CES conference and took a couple photos of the future of television that is currently only 11 inch in size, but Sony also shows a 27 inch OLED TV at the CES 2008.
