The Sony Ericsson Kurara: 720p Recording+AMOLED screen=Hot Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

I'm currently in a commited relationship with my Android smartphone, but that doesn't mean I have to stop looking at other devices. Some of them I might even want to oggle lecherously while sweating and mumbling under my breath. That might make me sound like a bit of a freak, but the Ericsson Kurara really does look that hot.

This new smartphone was leaked out on an Ericsson fan forum and brought into the English-speaking blogosphere by Boy Genius. As best we can tell, the Kurara is an S60-running smartphone with an 8.1 MP camera, like the Rachel. Unlike the Rachel, the Kurara's camera is supposed to be able to record in 720p HD. The Kurara is also rumored to pack an AMOLED screen, although that's impossible to confirm with the photos we have.

Grote Announces First Flexible LED Lighting Film Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Flexible LED sheets are here! At the 2009 SEMA show, Grote Industries has announced the release of the first commercially available LightForm flexible LED film. These LED sheets are less than 1 mm thick, and come in strips that are 10” long and less than 1” wide. You can cut them, paste them around corners and inside crevasses (time to rice up your car with some LED trim?), and even sew them into clothing. A whole new era of bright, gaudy fashion is about to arrive.

These LED strips come in red, green, or blue. You just peel off the back and apply the adhesive to a clean surface and, voila, instant festive lighting! Initially the uses for the LightForm film will probably be limited to decorating vehicles and costumes. Since the film is billed as durable and weather-resistant, it could also be perfect for decorating your home during the holidays.

Samsung UN55B7100 LED HDTV Review

Topic:

Samsung UN55B7100 LED HDTV Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The 55-inch Samsung is the top LED TV in the Samsung 7 series. Compared to the UN55B7000 the UN55B7100 features 3,000,000:1 Mega Contrast. Besides that I could not find a difference besides the difference in the frame color.
Of course the Samsung UN55B7100 (MSRP $3,599.99) is not as advanced as the current ultimate LED HDTV from Samsung. The Samsung UN55B8500 (MSRP $4,499.99) has a 7,000,000:1 Mega Contrast and 240Hz instead of 120Hz.
To see if the Samsung UN55B7100 is still a great choice for an LED TV consult this review just posted by HardwareCanucks.

The Waiting Game: OLED Cheaper Than LCD By 2016

Topic:

The Waiting Game: OLED Cheaper Than LCD By 2016 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Early-adopters are people who don't mind being screwed on cost. They're fine picking up a $2000 television that'll be worth half that much in six months time, as long as they can claim to be ahead of the curve. I bought my G1 last year knowing full well that, within a few months, my mobile would be outstripped by every other smartphone on the market. It was worth it to be one of the first Android users.

For people who don't care about nerd bragging rights, it's important to know when the latest and greatest will be cheap and effective enough to be a worthwhile buy. Take OLED technology, for instance. While tech geeks might be cool with dropping thousands of dollars on a 15” monitor, normal people would rather get a 50” LCD screen instead. OLED just isn't cheap enough to be a viable choice for most folks, but the day when it will be is coming up.

Last week we looked at the huge discounts that are already offered on the Samsung UN55B8000 LED HDTV. Tweaknews has tested the 55-inch Samsung LED HDTV UN55B8000 and published this in-depth review.

Quote from the review: "After over a month and a half of daily use, the Samsung UN55B8000 can be summed up as a mixed bag of great and not so great characteristics. The first thing to mention and the distinguishing feature is the 1.2 inch depth profile.
