Verizon's First LTE Phone Hits Mid-2011
A 4G-enabled smartphone could be a while off for Big Red. While a WiMax phone (the HTC Supersonic) will be joining Sprint's family in a few short months, Verizon doesn't appear to be so lucky. Nexus404 reports that the earliest VZW will be able to roll out an LTE handset is next summer.
The chief technology officer at Verizon claims (via the Wall Street Journal) that they will have their first 4G phone ready 6 months earlier than previously anticipated. That's good news at least, even though we still have a year's worth of waiting to do. It could be possible that Big Red's first LTE phone will come courtesy of Apple.

NZXT M59 Classic Series Mid Tower Chassis review
Tweaktown published a NZXT M59 Classic Series Mid Tower Chassis review.
Quote from review: "NZXT has been very kind to me and kept me in supply of their chassis’ over the past year. Thinking back to cases like the Zero2, Beta and Panzerbox, NZXT can make both the usual chassis, as well as thinking outside the box and rearranging a bit of hardware in others. I do remember being impressed with those cases in what they offered as well as the design and concept. Today we are looking at an addition to their Classic series of chassis’.
The Classic series has cases such as the Beta, Lexa and Duet to name a few. Today we are looking at the M59 mid tower, a unique looking addition to the line-up on the outside that boasts a case full of features. On the box alone they claim it to be full of cooling options, wire manageability, and as they put it, “Black”. I won’t give away too much now; you will have to continue on to see what I mean by those features." Read more

Witstech A81: A Surprisingly Cool MID
Android, iPhone OS, or Windows 7...those tend to be the operating systems we think about when we envision a high-end tablet PC. Windows CE rarely, if ever, comes to mind. That's a shame, because the Witstech A81 MID looks pretty awesome, even if it does use CE. (Via PMP Today)
This 7” MID has a Cortex A8 CPU, 16 GB of memory, and Bluetooth 2.1. It has a 7” screen and seems to be designed with e-reading functionality in mind. It has optional GPS and supports several office programs, as well as a variety of video and audio files.

MWC: Huawei SmaKit S7 7” Tablet/MID
There is no such thing as 'too many tablets'. Sure, the market may be getting a bit flooded right now, but that's a good thing for all of us. Eventually the market will contract and we'll be left with a few manufacturers and a few solid lines of tablet. Right now, we have a bewildering array of choices, like the Huawei SmaKit S7. (Phandroid)
This 7” MID comes with 3G voice capabilities and Bluetooth. It supports resolutions of 800 x 480 and can handle information-sharing across multiple screens. This allows it to display content simultaneously across more than one device. The S7 can be hooked up to a home computer, TV, or Android handset.

3GNET MI11 MID Looks Great
Chinese manufacturers are often a lot more willing to try 'weird' things and non-traditional designs with their products. Take this MI11 MID (Cloned In China) from Shenzhen-based 3GNET. This device looks like a sliding-QWERTY smartphone, but with an angled monitor and a much larger size. The MI11 features a 5” touchscreen and handwriting recognition.

Motom Launching Hot New Windows XP MID
Chinese-made MIDs are a dime a dozen. Tons of itty-bitty Shanzai manufacturers roll out MIDs and PMPs of varying quality every day. In such a crowded market, it is difficult for any one device to rise above the herd. Motom's new M7 mobile Internet device (Cloned In China) might just be awesome enough to do so.

Inbrics M1 Android MID: Part of an Integrated Life
Inbrics is a company that understands where the growth of always-connected technology is taking us. Every day, people integrate "smart" devices into their lives a little bit more. We hook up media boxes to our television, we keep a spare computer (or netbook) in the kitchen, and we carry a smartphone on our way to work. Inbrics realizes that these baby steps are just the beginning.
At the Mobile World Congress Inbrics will show off their M1 Android MID. This device has WiFi, 3G or WiMax, an AMOLED touchscreen and a full-sized sliding QWERTY keyboard. It has GPS, Bluetooth, a 3 MP camera on the back and a VGA camera in the front for video conferencing. Add to that 16 GB of internal memory and a microSD slot and you've got pretty much the perfect Android VOIP-phone.

Sungworld Making ''Apple-style'' 7'' Android MID
Is it possible to rip off a product that doesn't technically exist yet? If so, I think this Sungworld MID might be an iTablet rip-off. Cloned in China claims that this 7" MID will have an "Apple style user interface" despite running the Android OS.

ViewSonic VPC08 Hyprid Phone/MID Spotted
The ViewSonic VPC08 is an odd little device. Cloned In China describes it as an MID/phone hybrid that runs on Windows XP. The phone runs on a separate operating system from the rest of the device. The ViewSonic combines a feature phone with an MID, which is kind of a clumsy way to design a product.

Intel Still Talks MIDs At CES And Shows Them Off On Video
Intel published a video on their CES blog showing off several Atom based MIDs including UMID and one from Futjitsu. The video was taped before CES opened, I guess that is why these devices are still called MIDs. At the CES anything bigger than an iPhone and sporting a touchscreen is a Tablet or Slate.

Seed Industrial HT560 MID Has VIA C7 Processor
If the analysts are right and MIDs are dead, they're making one hell of a final stand. PMP Today reports that Shenzhen Seed Industrial is launching a new MID with a slick, slender body and a VIA C7 processor. The C7 is basically VIA's answer to Qualcomm's Snapdragon. It delivers 1 GHz of processing power to the HT560, which packs a 5.6" touchscreen and Windows XP.
The HT560 also has a front-facing camera (yay for video conferencing!) a 16 GB SSD, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 1 GB of RAM. Not bad for a device that's expected to roll in under $500.

Back to the Artemide LED Tolomeo lamp. What should I say, I also have a Tolomeo Mini Table Task Lamp on my desk. Their design is cool and timeless.
