Committee Formed to Define 3-D Mastering Standard for Homes

Topic:

Committee Formed to Define 3-D Mastering Standard for Homes Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review I remember the 3-D movies from when I was a kid where you had to wear paper glasses with red and blue lenses. The movies really weren’t that impressive, not to mention they were blurry and just didn’t look that cool. Modern 3-D films like Beowulf on the other hand are fantastic with clarity that rivals normal films and great 3-D effects.

The Society of motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) says that it has formed a committee to define the parameters for the mastering of 3-D films and more for home viewing. The goal of the committee is to define a standard that can display 3-D content on all fixed devices in the home regardless of the delivery channel. This standard will pave the way for 3-D broadcasts in the home from movies, TV channels and cable providers. Read more

An in game item mall will be open during the beta as well. I can only assume you can buy things like chew toys and sweaters for your virtual pet character there. Read more
