MSI Launches Wind12 U230 Light Notebook
Am I the only one that thinks we have too many categories of notebook these days? It's getting to the point where it's hard to tell just what should be called what. Take the new MSI Wind12 U230. (via Engadget) It weighs less than 3 pounds (2.9, to be exact) and it packs a power-efficient 1.6 GHz Athlon Neo X2 processor. So far it sounds like a netbook.
Ahh...but it only offers 4 hours of battery life, and it comes with a 12.1” screen, which moves it from netbook to ultra-portable notebook. I think. Honestly, what we call it doesn't matter. It looks pretty and it has a “Brand new msi Ergonomic De-stress Keyboard”. Although I can't personally speak to how ergonomic that keyboard is, MSI seems to be quite proud of it.

MSI U210 12.1-inch Netbook Review
Today I am looking at the 12.1-inch MSI U210 netbook. The large screen netbook runs an AMD Neo processor rather than the typical Intel Atom part.
The machine also runs Windows Vista Home Premium rather than Windows XP. The U210 has very good performance of the netbook class, but gives up battery life to the less powerful machines. Read more

MSI Big Bang Motherboard Powered by Lucid
MSI and Lucid have announced a seriously high-end gaming motherboard at IDF called the MSI Big Bang that will have PC gamers in an uproar. The new board has technology that allows it to make multiple GPU history. The board is the first to allow both ATI and NVIDIA GPUs to operate on the same mainboard at the same time.
That means rather than having SLI or CrossFire you can get multiple GPU gaming with cards from different manufacturers. The board is based on the Intel P55 system and has the Lucid Hydra 200 real-time distributed processing engine. Read more

MSI X600 CULV Notebook Announced
What's that up in the sky?! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...another MSI CULV notebook! MSI ships it with an external DVD drive, since the notebook itself is too thin to accommodate one.
The X600 packs a 1.4 GHz SU3500 CPU, an ATI HD 4330 graphics card, and a 320 GB hard drive. It's got 4 GB of DDR 2 ram, and a six cell battery which should provide substantial battery life. The X600 also comes with a 1.4 megapixel webcam and features two USB ports. It comes in two colors, silver and black, and costs $899.

MSI Wind Top AE1900 Review
Our review partner Digital Trends tested the All-in-One touchscreen PC: MSI Wind Top AE1900. The MSI Wind Top AE1900 got introduced in April.
Quote from the review: "Intel never intended for the ultra-low-voltage Atom processor to power anything but ultraportable PCs, but its widespread popularity in netbooks has now earned the chip yet another new home in desktop computers as well. Manufacturers like Asus, Averatec and Shuttle have all turned to the netbook parts pile to begin churning out all-in-one PCs that employ the same hardware, and although performance isn't a selling point for this new breed, price is. Consider MSI's Atom-powered AE1900, which sells for just $530. For a full PC with all the accoutrements, including an 18.5-inch monitor, keyboard, and mouse, that's an awfully inviting package in a cash-strapped economy.

MSI Wind U100 10-inch Netbook Review
We published just last week our review of the MSI U100 Netbook. Tweaktown also reviewed the MSI U100.
Quote from the review: "Netbooks are the biggest selling category in the computer industry right now for several reasons. The poor global economy is the big reason consumers are flocking to netbooks. I don’t think that is the only reason that netbooks continue to post such massive growth, I think that consumers are finally realizing that they don’t have to use the most powerful notebook available to do the majority of what they need.
With that realization many people shopping for computers are opting to go with the much smaller and more portable netbook machines rather than larger full notebook systems.
