Android fans are supposed to be happy with the new HTC Magic coming from Vodafone in Europe. What Android fans actually wanted to see is a high-end Android smartphone that can compete with the iPhone and the upcoming Palm Pre. A HTC Touch Pro2 running Android would have been enough for starters. Read more

HTC Magic Android Phone debuts at MWC 2009

HTC Magic Android Phone debuts at MWC 2009 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review As rumored yesterday Vodafone and HTC introduced the HTC Magic Android smartphone aka Google G2 at the MWC 2009.
The HTC Magic is pretty basic featuring a 3.2 inch touchscreen with 320x480 HVGA resolution and running on a Qualcomm MSM7201a CPU 528MHz.
Other features of the HTC Magic include Bluetooth, WiFi, 3.2MP Camera, microSD card slot, G-Sensor, GPS and digital compass.
The T-Mobile G1 at least offers a QWERTY keyboard. The G2 is not better than the G1 it just offers a smaller size. Read more

The new WinMo update looks quite nice and is something to look forward to when it gets released on the first handsets in the middle of this year.
The new HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch Diamond2 will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5. At the MWC 2009 HTC already showed off a Diamond2 running Windows Mobile 6.5. Engadget and Gizmodo published video walkthroughs of the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS running on the Diamond2. Read more

The LG-GD910 is not just 3G it actually supports HSDPA with 7.2Mbps download speeds. On the watch face is a video camera to use the LG-GD910 for video conferencing or video capture. LG crammed the UI of the LG-GD910 wristphone on a 1.43 inch touchscreen. Read more

That is pretty much all the information Huawei revealed in their press-release about their first Android phone.

So far Android has a very weak showing at the MWC 2009. After CES, where Android was totally absent this is kind of a bad sign. The MWC just stired hope that things will still change. The only highlight so far is the news that Vodafone will offer the HTC Magic aka G2. Read more

Despite the transparency just being a gimmick it is highly innovative and fun. LG already impressed with their full 3D cube based UI found on the new LG Arena at the MWC 2009. Read more

Update: HTC Magic Android Phone official.

Pocket-lint now reports that they heard from a close source that the Google G2 phone would be announced tomorrow at the MWC 2009 on Vodafone. Update: Rumor confirmed, Vodafone will launch the HTC Magic aka G2. More details on BGR. Read more
