MacWorld Expo 2009 Registration started, overlaps with CES 2009 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The registration for the MacWorld Expo and Conference 2009 has opened. The MacWorld 2009 will start on Monday, January 5th (Conference) and the Expo kicks of on Tuesday, January 6th with Steve Jobs' keynote. The MacWorld Expo 2009 lasts until Friday January 9th.
The CES 2009 opens already on January Thursday 8th and lasts until Sunday January 11th. For most the CES is opening though already on the 7th as Microsoft's Steve Ballmer is holding the traditional Microsoft CES keynote on the eve before the CES opening. Read more

Apple Insider reports that American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu thinks Apple is set to begin shipping some of its computers with Blu-ray drives.

If the Wall Street Journal writes about it, than for many this means it will happen. Steve Jobs will take the stage at the Macworld in 7 hours and then we will know for sure.

The WSJ article also mentions that some analysts started to warn that a no-show by an Apple cellphone would be seen negatively by investors. Meaning the stock would decline. So Steve, do the right thing! Read more

So between our intense CES coverage, we will have to listen to Steve Jobs what cool new products he is going to launch - maybe the Apple cell phone?

We are not a car news site, but there are always some cool concept cars or new cars shown in Detroit that are interesting for us.

If you have seen the myvu HMD before than you recognize them from France Telekom, who sells it bundled with a Samsung D600 cell phone under the Orange brand (report).
The myvu has 2 QVGA micro displays inside the thin visor. Those video glasses generate a modest 12 inch screen viewed from 3 feet away. The headset is integrated, which is nice. Read more

Engadget, Gizmodo, MacObvserver are providing live coverage of the MacWorld right now. Now also big media like CNET is providing live coverage from the Steve Jobs Keynote at the MacWorld.

I was at the MacWorld last year, but this year we skipped sending somebody over there.
Engadget's live blog is a fun read and has good photos. On the other hand the one on CNET loads super fast.
The MacWorld coverage on Mac Observer is a classic. Gizmodo's live blog is also worth checking out.

So far no really earth shaking announcements, but the keynote is just into its first 30 min. Read more

It is apparently the first dock for the iPod that allows a user to view and navigate their iPod’s music and songs on their television screen (screen-shot below) while controlling the iPod from the sofa using the included 18 button remote control.
The DLO HomeDock Deluxe also allows iPod owners to play their slideshows and videos on the TV. Read more

I met Elekson last year at the CES 2005, where they demoed products that make use of their fabric sensors.
Eleksen has developed the only MP3 player case with external volume controls for both headphones and speakers.
The generic case for mp3 players supports volume control (see photo). The iPod music case has 5 fabric buttons to control an iPod: Play/Pause, Track Forward, Track Back, Volume Up, Volume Down and iPod ON/OFF. So you never might see your iPod again, it will stay inside the case forever. Read more

Macworld Expo 2006 New Apple Product Rumors

Macworld Expo 2006 New Apple Product Rumors Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The Macworld Expo 2006 is still over a month away, but the rumors on what Apple will introduce at the show in San Francisco is already getting very concrete.

Apple news site Think Secret reported about a DVR enabled Apple Mac mini. Apparently, the new Mac mini project is code-named Kaleidoscope and will feature an Intel processor and include both Front Row 2.0 and TiVo-like DVR functionality.

The second rumor is around a new content distribution system featuring a new digital rights management system. The system actually is supposed to cache purchased media online and never be stored on users hard-drive - not sure if that will fly with users. More details on Think Secret (Thanks Larry R.). The photo shows the iPod Shuffle wall. Very cool display to give visitors easy access to try the new Apple Flash memory music player.
