These sorts of legal fights happen all the time and often they go the way of the larger of the two companies fighting. A company called Man & Machine makes a line of sealed peripherals for hospitals and medical offices that can be cleaned and disinfected without damaging the devices.

Among these offerings is a sealed mouse called the Mighty Mouse. You may or may not recognize the Mighty Mouse name as what Apple calls some of its Mac mice as well. Man & machine has announced that the USPTO has granted it a trademark on the name Mighty Mouse for use on computer mice in the US. Read more

Our nation is in a bit of a money crisis. In the last few years the national debt has soared to numbers so high they sound imaginary. With wars in the Middle-East still ongoing, and an extremely expensive universal healthcare bill (likely) coming in the future, that debt is only going to increase. The one thing people on both side of the political spectrum can agree on is this; we need to start cutting costs, big time.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the folks at Medicare didn't get that memo. Gizmodo reports that they have refused pay for a $150 iPhone app that does the work of an $8,000 computer.

If you combine the RC toys with some lasers, I am especially interested. Jada Toys has announced a slick new line of RC toys called Battle Machines that sell for $49.99 for a pair of the machines or $29.99 for a single car.

The toys look like they are right out of the Death Race film and combine laser tag style play with RC racing. The toys have a shield level indicator and there are three different cars to choose from including the Mustang GT, 69 Chevy Camaro SS, and a 99 Chevy Silverado Dooley. Read more

The three systems include the Alienware Area-51 X58, Alienware Area-51 ALX X-58 and the Dell XPS 730x. The two Alienware machines offer up to 12GB of triple channel DDR3 RAM while the XPs machine offers up to 6GB. The platform supports both SLI from NVIDIA and CrossfireX from ATI and supports RAID. Power supplies are available with up to 1200W in Alienware machines.

Performance increase using the new processors is over 20% compared to previous generation gaming platforms. Intel Core i7 processors help the rigs crank out maximum benchmarks at peak game settings. Other features of the machines include AlienFX lighting, Alienware Command Center advanced user controls, and the XPS machine has lighting inside the case that turns on when the side panel is removed. The eMachines T3656 is the lowest priced of the three new systems with a MSRP of only $299.99. the machine runs on an Intel Celeron, had 1GB or memory and a 160GB HDD.

The T5247 desktop will sell for $399.99 and uses an Intel Dual-core processor and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. Storage capacity for the machine is 320GB. Also being offered is a complete system called the W3653 that includes a computer running an Intel Celeron Dual-Core and 1GB of DDR2 RAM with a 320Gb HDD.
