Michel Fournier will try Big Jump again in August
As reported yesterday, Michel Fournier's Big Jump failed because the balloon left without him.
Details of the failed record attempt have been communicated in a press-conference held late yesterday.
Most likely a mechanism that is needed to cut the capsule from the balloon and parachute it back to earth opened too early.

Michel Fournier's Big Jump failed Today
Michel Fournier's record skydiving project failed today, because the balloon left the capsule with Fournier behind.
The very expensive balloon was recovered 40km off the launch area. The Michel Fournier team will give a press conference later to detail what went wrong.

Michel Fournier's Big Jump is Today
Michel Fournier had to postpone his big jump to today. It looks like it is a go and preparations are underway right now.
64 year old French Sky diver Michel Founier will try today to break several world records: Altitude record for a skydive (130,000 feet, 40 km), Altitude record for human balloon flight, Record for longest free-fall and Record for fastest skydive.
During the jump Mr. Fournier will reach speeds of 1,500km/h (~932mph). The speed of sound is actually just 770mph. So Mr. Fournier will actually reach supersonic speeds skydiving towards earth.
