Sony Offers Pink eReader and Mini Notebook Bundle
With Breast Cancer Awareness Month in full swing, many electronics manufacturers are helping support the cause by donating to various cancer research organizations. Sony has announced that it will be donating to breast cancer research for $110,000.
To raise the money for the donation Sony is offering a couple, special edition products, naturally pink in color. Sony has offered a Pink W Series mini notebook PC Bundle that includes the notebook, a mouse, and what appears to be a pink case. Read more

Sony mini Notebook coming to compete with Asus Eee?
Sony has a long history of making small notebooks. Just remember the VAIO U series Windows XP PDA from 2004. The small Sony notebooks have always been very expensive. Today the IDG News Service published a story about an encounter at the WiMAX Expo that could mean Sony is going to join the new Asus Eee created low-cost mini notebook space.
Quanta showed at the WiMAX Expo a VIA Openbook based notebook prototype that had Sony listed as manufacturer in the properties.

GPRS Mini Notebook
Zupera Technology (Special Economic Zone of Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China) announced today two new Mini Notebooks with GPRS built-in.
The New models Smartbook-7c and Smartbook-8XP include an embedded GPRS dual mode module (single SIM, 900MHz / 1800MHz) to meet standard global wireless platforms.
The Smartbooks feature an integrated keyboard (English), two pointing devices, stylus pen, touch screen, and tablet software tools.
Optional accessories include 12V car charger and carry bag.
The Smartbook-7c, incorporates a 7” XGA Touch Screen, low-power Intel Strong ARM, removable data storage via CF port, embedded with Windows CE.NET, and familiar Microsoft Pocket tools (Outlook, Browser, Excel, Word, etc.).
The Smartbook-8XP, incorporates an 8.9” XGA Touch Screen, high speed, energy-efficient and fan-less Transmeta Crusoe 800MHz, 20GB form-fitted and shock resistant 2.5” Hard Drive, removable data storage via CF port, and runs Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with handwriting recognition of Tablet tool software.

New Sony Ultra Mini Notebook PCG-U101
New Sony Mini Notebook ("Bio U Series") will hit the market in Japan on May 3rd.
The Sony PCG-U101 features a mobile Intel Celeron 600Mhz Processor and up to 512MB of RAM. Buit-in of course Wi-fi capabilities.
The chip-set is the Intel855PM, and the Mobility Radeon (16MB/3D) for graphics.
The 7.1" TFT liquid crystal can display up to 1,024x768pixel.
The Sub-size notebook is 178.8x139.5x34.1-37.6mm, and the weight is about 880g. The battery time is about 3-5.5 hours.
The small Notebook comes wiht Windows XP Home Edition.
It features a left and right button input dial for easy thumb operation.
It is estimated that the Sony PCG-U101 will sell for about 160,000yen.

The PCG-U101 is following the PCG-U1 Model that was introduced last year.
