Sony Says still to Ship 1 Mio. Sony PS3 by Year End
The Sony PS3 is a total sell-out along with lots of chaos at the stores on launch day. An AmTech analyst (viai Kotaku) estimates that Sony only shipped about 125,000-175,000 Sony PS3 consoles in the US yet. The word was after the shipment cut that 400,000 PS3 would be available in the US at launch.
There are no confirmations yet on the actual numbers of shipped Sony PS3 consoles. Sony said though in a report on Gamesindustry.biz to still plan to ship 1 million Sony PS3 by the end of the year. This number refers to global shipments of the PS3. But in any case there is still hope to find one retail before the holidays.

Toshiba Qosmio G30 with HD DVD Review
Toshiba announced the Qosmio G30 with HD DVD back in April. Digit-Life has just published a detailed review of this multimedia powerhouse notebook.
Quote from the review:
"A couple of years ago there started to appear notebooks that seemed to violate the concept of mobile personal computers at first glance. Large dimensions, weight, and a short battery life are not favorable to real mobile work. Come to think of it, there are different types of mobility, and computers can be used not only for work, but also for entertainment. So, the appearance of notebooks with a wide 20" panel weighing over eight kilograms is just an evolution of the concept of a multimedia notebook.
Indeed, the real [not personal] multimedia implies a large screen, so a notebook won't be small. An important peculiarity of modern video materials is high requirements to CPU performance. A gaming model must also possess a fast video card. Add a large volume of memory and RAID with two hard drives.
