Toshiba's just announced a new high-end gaming laptop, the awkwardly named Qosmio X500. This new laptop is built to be a multimedia/gaming workhorse, and it has the specs to carry out that role well. Under its hood the Qosmio is powered by an Intel Core i7 quad core processor. It'll come loaded up with Windows 7, as well as Intel's TurboBoost technology (makes the cores run faster if the machine is operating at low power).

The Qosmio's have varying amounts of DDR3 system memory, dual HD configuration options, and Nvidia GeForce GTS 250M graphics (1GB video memory). Certain models will be sold with integrated Blu-ray drives. All Qosmio's have 18.4" screens, as well as harman/kardon speakers and integrated HDMI-CEC ports.

I knew when they tossed the bad guy into the ocean last time out it would come back to haunt them.

Along with the new film we are getting several odd transformer tie ins. There was a mouse last week that transformed into a robot and this week we get an odd Decepticon from the 80's called Soundwave. Back in the day, he turned into a cassette tape player. An AmTech analyst (viai Kotaku) estimates that Sony only shipped about 125,000-175,000 Sony PS3 consoles in the US yet. The word was after the shipment cut that 400,000 PS3 would be available in the US at launch.

There are no confirmations yet on the actual numbers of shipped Sony PS3 consoles. Sony said though in a report on Gamesindustry.biz to still plan to ship 1 million Sony PS3 by the end of the year. This number refers to global shipments of the PS3. But in any case there is still hope to find one retail before the holidays. Read more
