Mitsubishi Electric Announces New 12.1-inch TFT-LCD
Mitsubishi Electric has announced that it will be selling a new TFT-LCD panel module internationally. The new screen is 12.1-inches in size and has XGA resolution with full color. The big selling point of the screen is that it is 10% smaller with a reduced frame width.
The screen is model number AA121XL01 and has up to 1000 cd/m2 brightness and longer backlight life thanks to white LEDs. The new features of the screen will reduce the size and weight of the device. The product will be available starting February 1, 2010 and will ship globally at 52,500 yen or equivalent. Read more

Mitsubishi Laser TV Price Drops By $1,000; New Model Around The Corner?
Back in July the price for the still unique Mitsubishi Laser TV LaserVue dropped for the first time since introduction by $500. Now Amazon and other retailers offer the Mitsubishi L65A90 65-Inch LaserVue HDTV for only $5,999 cutting a cool $1,000 off the price.
The first Mitsubishi Laser TV went on sale in November of last year. Is it time for a new Laser TV generation? We did not even get the larger brother of the L65A90 yet.

Mitsubishi Laser TV drops in Price for the first Time
I am not sure what is going on with the Mitsubishi Laser TV LaserVue. Somehow it got rather quiet despite some recent manufacturing woes around the Laser TV technology. In the meantime Samsung hammers LED TV Technology into our heads and we are almost forgetting the cool Laser TV technology. Afterall Laser TVs give us twice the color, are energy efficient, 3D ready and can be housed in a thin canvas.
I was monitoring the prices on Amazon for the Mitsubishi L65A90 65-Inch LaserVue HDTV and now Amazon is selling it for $6,499 instead of the $6,999 price the unit has had since introduction last November.

Mitsubishi Adds 16 Speakers and 3D to New HDTVs
Mitsubishi pulled back the curtain to reveal a throng of new HDTVs, each offering cinephiles and home-theater enthusiasts something new.
First up, the newly branded Unisen flat panel HDTVs. These premium sets feature a high-quality picture that Mitsubishi claims utilizes “wide color gamut backlight technology to reproduce approximately 25 percent more color than most LCD-TVs,” according to the release. But the real kicker comes in the form of a 16-speaker soundbar for 5.1 surround sound. Mitsubishi stops short of calling the Unisen sets a complete home theater in a box, but a consumer would be hard-pressed to find an HDTV with truly impressive audio included.
The Unisen sets will range in size from 40” to 52” and will run in price from $1,799 to $3,299 depending on the model and size.
Also reveled were the 737 and 837 models. Much like the Boeing 737, these HDTVs are huge, running in size from 60” to 82”. Along with Mitsubishi’s jargon features (including JADE Activity Based User Interface, Improved DeepField Imager, and SharpEdge, to name a few) the 737 and 837 come complete with new 3D-Ready viewing technology, which includes 3-D gaming.

Mitsubishi XD95U Pico-portable Projector unveiled
Mitsubishi today announced the release of the XD95U, its new 3.3-pound pico-portable projector for presenters on the go. Its estimated 3000-hour lamp life (in low mode) and filter-free design provide a low total cost of ownership, making it an economical choice.
Why this 3.3 pound is dubbed "pico-portable" is not clear to me. Pico is associated with the mobile phone sized or smaller projector technology.

Mitsubishi LaserVue debuts on Amazon
The first Laser TV finally makes its appearance on Amazon.com. Mitsubishi announced last week that the 65 inch LaserVue L65-A90 is officially on sale in stores. Amazon is not directly offering the LaserVue HDTV yet. A retailer named Electronics Expo is offering the L65A90 Laser TV via Amazon for $6,999.
Reviews of the LaserVue Laser TV have been very positive so far. The only beef is with the high price and it seems none of the retailers currently see the need to move down from the MSRP of the L65A90.

Mitsubishi HC6500 1080p Projector Review
ProjectorCentral reviewed the new Mitsubishi HC6500U Home Theater Projector. The HC6500 is more afforadable than the Mitsubishi HC7000. See the review to find out if it is a great 1080p home cinema projector or not.
Quote from the review: "
Sharpness and detail are crystal clear, and high definition content looks stellar. The projector has the lumen power to light up a very large screen in a light-controlled room, or a smaller screen with some ambient light.
