Mitsubishi Laser TV - what we know so far
Somehow Laser TV crossed my mind this morning and I decided to hit the web to see if there are new details or publications by Mitsubishi since their announcement of the first Laser TV at the CES 2008 in January.
The last press information from Mitsubishi about the Laser TV got published along with new images of the 65" Laser TV prototype in Japan in Mid-February. The announcement is just a repeat of what has been announced at the CES 2008. It looks like Japan is not the first release target for the Mitsubishi Laser TV, the U.S. home theaters will have the honor of adopting a Laser TV first this fall. Mitsubishi also manufactures HDTVs in the North America.

Interview with Mitsubishi about LaserTV
Mitsubishi introduced the first LaserTV at the CES 2008. We got the chance to conduct an email interview with Frank DeMartin, General Manager for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America to try to find out more about the upcoming Mitsubishi LaserTV.
At the CES, Mitsubishi showed a 65 inch LaserTV that is supposed to go on sale this fall. Pricing is supposed to be in the range of premium flat-panel TVs in the same size category. There seems to be still a lot of undetermined aspects that Mitsubishi has to hammer out before the market entry of the first Laser TV.

Mitsubishi Laser TV Details announced
It happened. A new category of TV has been announced. Mitsubishi just published a press-release with the details of their large-screen Laser TV.
The long awaited Mitsubishi Laser TV delivers as much as twice the color of current high-definition televisions.
Today's HDTVs display less than 40% of the color spectrum that the eye can see. Now, for the first time ever, laser produces twice the color. Laser beams provide the widest range of rich, complex colors, along with the most clarity and depth of field.

2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder surprisingly good looking
I just stumbled over the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Roadster and I am quite impressed by it's looks.
I am almost tempted to say that the 2008 Eclipse Spyder is sexier than the BMW Z4. Nothing can touch the already classic Z3 of course in the affordable roadster segment.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution & More at LA Auto Show
Mitsubishi had a booth full of cool cars at the LA Auto Show. From the new Lancer Evolution to Mitsubishi race cars old and new there was much to be seen in the Mitsubishi booth. The star of the Mitsubishi show was definitely the new Lancer Evolution. The car has some traits in common with the old body style Evo, especially from the side.
I don’t care for the front end of the new Evo; it’s not particularly attractive to me. Looks aside, the car has the performance pedigree to make up for a lackluster design. The turbo charged 4-cylinder engine puts out 291 HP and the power meets the pavement via super-all wheel control dynamic handling system. Mitsubishi is tight lipped on the performance numbers for the car, but they should be decent. Read more

Mitsubishi works on 3D Blu-ray Player
Mitsubishi has not yet released standard Blu-ray players on the consumer market, but is already working on a Blu-ray player that converts 2D movies into 3D experiences. Mitsubishi has been developing Blu-ray technology since day one, but I have not seen a product on the market yet.
Mitsubishi demonstrated a prototype to a couple of journalists this week. The 3D Blu-ray player solution requires special shutter glasses, but works via a standard DLP projector.

Mitsubishi WD-57831 HDTV Review
Despite CES going on our review partners at Digital Trends still found time to publish a review of the Mitsubishi WD-57831 57 inch HDTV.
Quote from the review:
"Mitsubishi’s WD-57831 is a 57W widescreen 16:9 HDTV, designed to produce exceptional images from all (both standard and high definition) video sources. The WD-57831 is certainly a crowd pleaser! If ever a TV was designed for watching high definition programming (standard definition images aren’t too shabby either), enjoying Home Theater, viewing movies, or watching stills from your digital camera, this is the one! Happily, it’s not just the size of the screen that impresses, but the images displayed on it.
The set includes dual antenna RF inputs, two rear A/V/S-Video inputs, three HD-level component video inputs, two HDMI w/HDCP inputs, two IEEE 1394, one A/V/S-Video, one component video, and RF outputs. Convenience features include twin-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture) and TV Guide On Screen (that worked flawlessly with my local cable system, Cablevision).
