PhotoFast Unveils G-Monster 1.8'' PATA V4 SSD

A company called PhotoFast has unveiled a new line of PATA SSDs that claim to be the first SSD in 1.8" size that has a built-in garbage collection function. The new line of SSDs are aimed at netbooks and other PATA using electronic devices.

The Garbage collection function is built-in at the hardware level inside the drive. The feature allows the drive to rearrange itself during idle time. This lets the drive prevent files from being fragmented and slowing the performance. Read more

Monster and rapper Dr. Dre are back with a new set of headphones for audiophiles called the Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Solo. The headphones are an on-ear set that retail for about $220. The headphones are considered the entry level Beats set.

The Beats Solo headphones have a ControlTalk cable that allows the user to control all the aspects of their music and still answer calls with the iPhone 3GS. The headphones are also compatible with the iPod. The special cable has a mic, answer button, and allows changing of tracks without having to touch the iPod. Read more

Monster Ships New Monster GreenPower Energy-Saving PowerCenters

Monster has announced that it is now shipping a pair of GreenPower Energy-saving Power Centers for home theaters. The two products are the HDP 850G and the HDP 900G. the devices sell for $99.95 and $129.95 respectively.

The two power strips protect home theater equipment connected to them from surges and other power issues. The new green versions of the products automatically turn the power completely off to home theater equipment when the gear isn’t in use. Read more

Nokia E75 Email Monster Phone is shipping

Nokia announced today that the Nokia E75 is in stores now.
Nokia unveiled the Nokia E75 at the MWC 2009 in February. Less than two months later Nokia is already shipping the E75, which is quite good. In the past it took almost a year for a newly announced Nokia phone to hit the market.

The new Nokia E75 with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard is the first device to ship with the new email user interface, offering full desktop email functionality and complete integration of Nokia's email and messaging services. Read more

Monster Announces Headphones for Shuffle VoiceOver

Monster has announced that it is working on a new set of headphones that will be compatible with the new iPod shuffle VoiceOver feature. VoiceOver allows the shuffle user to control music playback using their voice.

Monster Turbine In-Ear Speakers Launch

Monster isn’t new to the headphone market and first introduced the Beats by Dre headphones a while back. The company is back with its first set of in-ear headphones called Turbine headphones. According to Monster the sound is so big they had to call them speakers.

The drivers are 8mm and engineered for bass and clarity you expect from speakers. Included with Turbine headphones are five pairs of sound isolating eartips in multiple sizes. The headphones use Monster cable technology as well including its Magnetic FluxTube and MicroStrand conductors. Read more

The Monster Wireless Digital Express HD system will use the Sigma Wireless HDAV for HD A/V cable replacement along with the UWB-over-Coax solution for installations with no new wires.

The Monster Wireless Digital Express will allow users to view full 1080p signals from any source and stream wireless HD broadcasts within a room or to an adjacent room. Monster announced what it calls the world’s most advanced wireless FM receiver for the iPod and iPhone called the iCarPlay 250 at CES back in January. Monster announced this week that it is now shipping the iCarPlay 250.

The device allows iPod and iPhone users to transmit music wirelessly to their car stereo via unused FM stations on the radio dial. The transmitter features 3 programmable presets for tuning, line level audio for minimized distortion, three button control, detachable USB cable, easy to read blue LCD and more. There is some serious geek appeal in a remote control monster truck that has as much horse power as many people’s lawn mowers. Add in all that power with the eight shocks that give the truck 5” of suspension travel and you have a truck born to catch some serious air.

This truck can hit 45 MPH, not scale MPH like the cars you see in Wal-Mart but real MPH as in this thing could get a speeding ticket in most residential neighborhoods. Going that fast you will need some brakes to slow it down before you give your 80 year old neighbor a heart attack, and you can do it with the 4-wheel disk brakes on the truck. Read more
