Asus Eee 1005HA is new bestselling Netbook on Amazon
The Asus Eee 1000HE was the bestselling netbook on Amazon for several months now. The new Asus Eee 1005HA has been available for a couple of days and has taken over the lead position in the Netbook Sales Charts.
The Asus Eee 1008HA, which launched the new seashell design could not accomplish this. The new Asus Eee 1005HA has what you like in a netbook: Very long battery life at 10.5 hours, 92% scaled keyboard, a 10.1-inch LED-backlit screen at a price under $400.

Corel Launches Netbook Office Suite
Netbooks are great but one of the biggest problems users of netbooks run into when they need to install software is that netbooks lack optical drives. That means that digital software is needed unless the user has an external optical drive.
Corel has announced a version of its office productivity suite that is specifically optimized for netbooks and other computers lacking optical drives. The Corel Home Office suite comes on a USB drive and has low memory requirements and a small footprint. Read more

Acer: 3D Notebook in October, Netbook Q3 2010
More news from Computex. The Acer company has partnered up with Winstron to develop a 15.6” 3D notebook. This new Acer will be capable of playing 3D videos, as well as converting two dimensional videos into 3D ones. As cool as this sounds, its awesomeness is somewhat dampened by the fact that you'll still need those awkward-looking stereoscopic glasses if you want to see in 3D.
This new notebook will come with Windows 7, and Acer is waiting until the official release of the new OS to announce their newest gadget. Acer is also working on a 3D notebook that will be able to function without funny-looking glasses. They've got a lot of technological issues to work past before that is a possibility, and it could end up being a long time before we see that notebook in stores.

Tangent and Topstar Unveil Netbook and All-in-One PC with TV
Topstar and Telegent have worked together to unveil a new netbook and all-in-one PC at Computex with a feature not previously seen in either class. The two firms have offered new designs that integrate an embedded hybrid free-to-air TV tuner into the designs.
The companies say that the two machines will be in mass production later this year and are targeted at overseas markets. Considering the two companies are foreign, I would assume overseas means the US. The all-in-one PC has an 18-inch screen and is optimized to deliver TV content. Read more

Acer to Launch Android Netbooks in Q3
We all know Google's open source Android operating system as a smartphone OS. However, Google has its eyes on more uses for Android than smartphones alone. Acer has announced that it will be selling netbooks running Android in Q3 of 2009.
Some analysts think that Android could threaten Microsoft's dominance in the netbook market. Acer will be the first firm to launch Android netbooks. Considering the very small percentage of netbooks sold with Linux, which Android is based on, and the abnormally high return rate for Linux notebooks I don’t think Microsoft has much to worry about. Top 10 Netbook Comparisons
Netbooks are currently the most active computer segment. There are almost every month new releases and the prices are highly volatile. Over the last weeks we looked at the most popular and new netbooks in a series of 10 netbook comparisons. We paired two netbooks in each comparison. In most cases new netbooks had to challenge established bestsellers in the same class.
Often the differences between netbooks from different manufactures are marginal. But then there are also several cases where it is pretty clear why one netbook is selling like hot cakes and the other stays on the shelves.
What we also saw is that prices dropped on some netbooks within two weeks dramatically. When we compared two netbooks two weeks ago and argued that one offers more and is cheaper than the other one, it could be already the other way around now.

HP Adds Three New Netbooks to Mini PC Line
HP has added three new netbooks to its Mini PC line including the Mini 110 XP Edition, Mini 110 Mobile Internet Edition, and the Mini 1101. The Mini 110 versions are designed to be stylish with Pink chic, Black Swirl, and White Swirl colors available. The Mini 1101 comes in Black Swirl only.
All three new models are 2.33 pounds and a bit over an inch thick. The screens are 10.1-inches and keyboards are 92% full size. I would guess they are basically the same as the previous HP netbooks save new colors. Storage is upped on the new machines with a 250GB HDD and power from either the Intel Atom N270 or the N280 processors for the Mini 110 and 1101. Read more

Acer Aspire One A150 8.9 inch Netbook compared with ASUS Eee PC 900HA
Netbooks with 8.9 inch have been the standard last year and now we just see 10 inch netbooks taking over. I still like the small and compact 8.9 inch size as the screen has the same resolution as most 10 inch screens available and the performance is also similar. The small Aspire One is still very popular with currently ranking on #3 in the Amazon netbook sales chart. The keyboard is of course rather small, but that is the price for ultra-portability.
Below we take a closer look at the Acer Aspire One A150 and compare it to Asus' 8.9 inch Netbook - the ASUS Eee PC 900HA.

Asus Eee 1008HA Netbook Review
The new stylish Asus Eee 1008HA netbook is available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $429.99. We already featured a 1008HA review from the UK. Now Engadget also got their hands on a Asus 10008HA Seashell and published a review.
Quote from the review: "In terms of performance, the Seashell operates in much the same manner as other, comparable netbooks. It's more than capable of handling everyday tasks -- browsing the internet, streaming video, editing documents, and listening to the Tegan and Sara channel on Pandora radio -- but it's by no means significantly more robust than other portables. As we mentioned, it boots up faster than our Mini 1000, and it also opens documents like Microsoft Word files a bit faster, which is nice as the lag can be grating.

Verizon HP Mini 1151NR Netbook Review
Verizon Wireless announced the $199.99 HP Mini 1151NR 3G netbook offering a week ago. Our review partner Digital Trends took the HP 1151NR netbook to the test and published a review.
As expected the review is not that positive as the HP Mini 1151NR is simply not a top of the line netbook
Quote from the review: "Mobile computing is tough for international travelers. You may have a mobile wireless card from a U.S. phone carrier, but if it's a CDMA card you won't be able to use it in Europe, and if it's a GSM card, you won't be able to use it in much of Asia.
