Nokia N86 Smartphone Comes to US August 22nd

If you love Symbian, high quality cameras, and $500 price tags, Nokia has got the smartphone for you. According to Boy Genius, the N86 is finally coming to the US on August 22nd of this year. The launch price of the N86 is set at $499, which is actually $59 lower than the pre-order price.

The N86 is Nokia's first 8 MP shooter. It packs a wide-angle lens, and a 1/1000 of a second shutter speed. The N86 runs on S60 3rd Edition FP2. It has a 2.6” AMOLED QVGA display, 8GB of internal storage, WiFi, and aGPS with Nokia Maps 3.0. It's got 3.9 hours of 3G talk-time and 6.3 hours of EDGE talktime. Standby is roughly 12 hours.

Nokia N86 8MP Release Imminent

Nokia's just announced the upcoming release of its first smartphone with a seriously awesome camera. The N86 has an impressive 8 MP shooter with a wide angle lens. It's not too scrappy in the hardware department either. A 2.6” AMOLED screen, 8 GB of internal memory, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE plus tri-band UMTS, WiFi, and aGPS make the N86 nothing to scoff at.

We don't have an exact date yet, but it's safe to say we'll see this new smartphone hit Nokia flagship stores and their online store within the next couple of weeks. Expect to see a release between the end of July and the end of August.

Nokia N86 8MP Phone Gets Official

One of the new products Nokia has announced at MWC 2009 so far is the Nokia N86 8MP camera phone. The handset has wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics to go with its 8MP sensor and is designed to perform in low light conditions with an integrated flash.

Nokia claims that the phone offers image quality on par with stand alone digital cameras. Nokia estimates that the handset will ship in Q2 of 2009 at a price of EUR 375. The device should come stateside as well. Read more
