Motorola Droid Goes Germany As Motorola Milestone On O2

Topic:

Motorola Droid Goes Germany As Motorola Milestone On O2 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review The Motorola Droid gets a new name when it arrives on O2 in Germany. The Droid will be known as Milestone. I guess because Verizon Wireless takes ownership of the Droid brand, other carriers have to come up with theirs. Verizon is using the Droid brand also for other Android devices like the Droid Eris.
O2 did not unveil the Motorola Milestone yet, but the word is out via BGR and also a link to an O2 webpage appeared in this forum.

Sprint To Drop Touch Pro2 Pricing

Topic:

Sprint To Drop Touch Pro2 Pricing Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

The HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint and T-Mobile is currently the most overpriced smartphone on the market. Don't get me wrong; the Pro2 is a very nice smartphone, but it isn't worth $350, with a 2 year contract and data plan. The iPhone 3GS doesn't cost that much, and the Pro2 is (at best) equal with it. Thankfully it looks like Sprint's finally figured that out. According to anonymous tipsters (via Boy Genius) the "Now network" will drop the price of a Pro2 down to $199, effective Oct. 1st.

Verizon and Sprint are now both selling the Pro2 at a reasonable rate, and according to Boy Genius AT&T is likely to charge the same amount. That leaves T-Mo with the only $350 smartphone left. If they're smart, they'll drop their prices as well. It's the only sensible move for them to make.

Touch Pro2: Confirmed For Verizon, Sept 11th

Topic:

Touch Pro2: Confirmed For Verizon, Sept 11th Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

I love it when a rumor gets validated. Verizon Wireless has put out a press release (Posted on Gizmodo) confirming the launch of the HTC Touch Pro2 on their network. This Friday, September 11th, is D-Day for the Touch Pro2.

The surprising thing about Verizon launching this phone is the price. Most other carriers are charging $350 for the privilege of packing this WinMo beauty. Verizon's, however, comes in at just $200 after a mail-in rebate. I hate to show favoritism for a carrier, but VZW is offering the best deal by far on the Touch Pro2. And, to make things even better, their version of the smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Touch Pro2: Heading to Verizon Sept 11th Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review What's this? More Touch Pro2 news? This time HTC's newest high-end smartphone is heading to Verizon Wireless on September 11th of this year. Boy Genius has this on good information from a "trusted ninja". Assuming this info is true, the Touch Pro2 will cost $199 on a 2-year contract after a $100 rebate.

HTC Touch Pro2 Comes to Sprint Sept 8th Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Sprint's finally let the cat out of the bag. They've announced that the HTC Touch Pro2 will be joining their network on September 8, 2009. Users will be able to purchase the new smartphone from the Sprint website and telesales, as well as from in-store sales representatives.

Don't look for the Touch Pro2 to come cheap. It starts at $349.99 with a 2 year service agreement and a $100 mail-in rebate. That's around $450 out of pocket when you pick this baby up, so beware.

HTC Touch Pro2 Review

Topic:

HTC Touch Pro2 Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Our review partner Digital Trends tested the new HTC Touch Pro2 and is not too impressed. The downers are an exceptionally weak camera, clumsy resistive touch screen, no keyboard backlighting and overall dry design.
Quote from the HTC Touch Pro2 review: "We loved the original HTC Touch Pro. Or wanted to, anyway. Though HTC wowed us with distinct styling, a snappy keyboard, and a downright luscious screen, we could never quite get past how clunky the slow the TouchFlo 3D interface felt pasted over Windows Mobile 6.1. HTC Touch Pro2: Now Available For T-Mobile

Topic:

HTC Touch Pro2: Now Available For T-Mobile Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Alright, T-Mo customers, release day is here. The HTC Touch Pro2 is now officially the best smartphone on the T-Mobile carrier, and it's available for sale right now. The price is a painful $349.99, but if you just can't wait for a better Android smartphone to hit in 2010, or you have an unshakeable thirst for Windows Mobile, this is your best option for a killer smartphone.

High cost aside, the Touch Pro2 is by far the hottest WinMo smartphone on the market right now. It's got a 3.6” WVGA touchscreen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2 MP camera, WiFi, GPS, microSDHC support, TouchFLO 3D, a 528 Mhz processor, and 288 MB RAM/512 ROM. Boy Genius agrees that the pricing is a bit absurd, but it's hard to argue against a smartphone this pretty.

HTC Touch Pro2 Hits AT&T as Tilt 2 Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

HTC's new Touch Pro2 wins this year's award for 'most promiscuous smartphone' in the industry. After coming to T-Mo, Verizon, and pretty much every other big non-Canadian North American carrier, the Pro2 is moving onto AT&T's network as well. Engadget's gotten ahold of some pictures of an AT&T branded Touch Pro2.

T-Mobile Touch Pro2: Out August 12th

Topic:

T-Mobile Touch Pro2: Out August 12th Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

I know a lot of people were hoping for a July release date for the T-Mobile Touch Pro2, but some pretty solid information has just come down which states that we won't be seeing a release for a while. August 12th was the date given on a leaked internal T-Mobile document, which is about as much confirmation as any rumor can get. Most speculation on the delay seems to lay the blame on quality control issues that T-Mobile is currently ironing out.

The Touch Pro2 is a 3G enabled smartphone with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a big 3.6” touch screen that tilts, and Windows Mobile 6.1. It's a pretty hot little mobile, and there's been a fair amount of buzz about it in the T-Mobile community. T-Mo has stated that their target audience is “successful professionals” who are also early adopters.

O2: iPhone 3GS Outsells 3G in U.K. Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

Ahh, launch day. While the fuss we've seen so far today doesn't begin to compare with the launch of the first iPhone, it's still looking like a pretty good day for Apple. U.K mobile carrier O2 has just announced that the iPhone 3GS has already exceeded the number of sales that last year's 3G made. They expect to sell 50% more 3GSs than they sold 3Gs by the time the day is done.

Despite the fact that pre-orders have reduced the expected number of in-store sales by a substantial amount, O2 has reported ten times as many customers showing up at their stores than normal. Their online website saw a boost in traffic of roughly 150%. By lunchtime, the carrier's sales exceeded last year's 3G release.
