OCZ announced the price-breaking OCZ Core SSD series on July 1st. Now NewEgg is shipping the 128GB and 64GB SSDs.
The 128GB OCZ Core sells for $479 after a $40 mail-in rebate on NewEgg.

OCZ Core SSDs Hands-On Review
A few weeks back OCZ announced its new lower cost Core series SSD drives. The Core series drives were significantly cheaper than other offerings on the market with a 128GB SSD going for $479. Laptop Magazine has got hands on the drives and offered up some fast benchmarks in front of a full review.
Laptop found that the read rate for the drive was 112.4Mbps and the drive had a seek time of 1ms. HD Tach gave the drive an average read time of 89.5Mbps. Boot time using the Core SSD was 36.3 seconds, less than a second slower than the much more expensive Samsung SSD. To copy a 5GB file using the 64GB OCZ core series SSD took 3 minutes and 59 seconds. OCZ unveiled today the OCZ Core Series SATA II 2.5" Solid State Drives (SSDs).
OCZ says that the new OCZ Core Series delivers the performance and reliability of the latest SSDs at a 50% lower price per gigabyte than other high speed offerings currently on the market.

OCZ Technology Launches New Gear at Computex
OCZ Technology has launched some interesting new gear at Computex. One of the most interesting products is OCZ’s new DDR3 PC3-17000 Flex II memory modules. The modules can be liquid cooled and run at speeds of 2133MHz+.
PC Power and Cooling is also releasing a new PSU called the TurboCool 860 that is NVIDIA ESA certified. New flash drives are also being offered with a small compact Spyder unit, a larger higher capacity drive called the Diesel and a drive called the Fortress. Read more

Best CPU Cooler is OCZ Vendetta 2 according to Comparison
Benchmark Reviews published a comparison of several CPU Cooler products and identified the OCZ Vendetta 2. I just installed this week the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B and I'm totally happy with it. My system runs much more silent now than before with the Intel packaged CPU cooler.

OCZ Announces Mass Production of Neural Impulse Actuator
Sure the name OCZ chose for its Neural Impulse Actuator sounds like something form Star Trek, but the technology is pretty cool if it performs as promised. The device allows gamers to control their games by thinking.

OCZ Announces PC Power & Cooling Turbo-cool 860W PSU
OCZ announced the new PC Power and cooling turbo-Cool 860-watt power supply today. The PSU is aimed at multiple applications from gaming machines to industrial use in servers. The PSU uses a single 12V rail to deliver optimum power distribution.
The 860 allows the user to fine tune the power via two ports that allow tuning of the +3V and +5V rails, experienced users can adjust the 12V rail as well. The form factor is a standard ATX design allowing it to fit into any chassis. Read more

OCZ Introduces 8GB PC2-6400 RAM Kit
For many computer users 4GB of RAM seems like a lot of RAM. You can’t really even see the benefit of 4GB of Ram unless you are using a 64-bit operating system. OCZ says 4GB isn’t enough and have rolled out a new 8GB RAM kit.
The RAM in the kit is four sticks of 2GB PC2-6400 RAM that runs at 5-4-4 timings. Those latencies are tighter than typical 2GB modules for added performance. Read more

OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB Flash Drive
Today we are looking at a new flash drive from OCZ called the OCZ ATV Turbo. This drive is very fast with excellent read and write speeds.
With its rubber case, it promises to be very durable as well. OCZ says the drive is water resistant but in testing, the cap was found to come off easily. Be careful with it and you will have one of the fastest drives around. Read more
